What's on your Thursday Menu?
I love the Costa Rican fall travel idea. And I'd like to add myself to that tradition. Please!

QJB-Are you being told that you don't qualify for the jobs you are applying for? I think that if you keep trying something will come available that will be a good fit for you and they will also want you. Have you thought about looking for a headhunter or person who assists with job placement? What is keeping you so busy during the day (job hunting and cookies? anything else?).
Tonight, DD and I will go to Derek Hough Symphony of Dance. It is billed as "a fast-paced stage show featuring a wide array of dance styles." Ballroom, Latin, contemporary, and other. One of the ticket outlets had a $25/ticket sale earlier this year and this was one of the shows that had the cheap tickets. So, I thought why not give it a try? Should be entertaining. Otherwise, office today. I will WFH tomorrow since I have a couple of appointments earlier in the day near my house.
QOTD: not really. We used to go apple picking but always ended up with too many apples... We do carve pumpkins for Halloween every year and the kids like to spook the trick or treaters as they come up to the door. Usually with some creative decorating and "jump scares". The treaters usually get a kick out of it.

I'm not being told anything. I apply, hear nothing, and I just get a rejection letter a week later. They are just the boilerplate - "although you were highly qualified" and "we went in another direction" so I don't really know what is keeping me from getting an interview other than that on LinkedIn you can see that literally hundreds of other qualified people are applying and I don't really know what would make me stand out without having the help from networking.
G'morning all!
I don't know if you have seen this thing about Trader Joes parking. Everybody complains that TJ chooses the worst lot to put their supermarket and the parking is the worst. Well, our Trader Joe is great. On the other hand the Whole Foods' parking lot is a mess. I don't even shop there but sometimes I gotta take some return items there, and yesterday I wa**** by another car, while seated in my car in a parking spot. The woman went against the flow and tried to park in one of the fish bone spots but on her left so kinda crooked. So first she hits my car, all that black plastic above the tire and in two different sections. I come down to see what happened and she is still trying to park in that spot. She has a big old suv, parking spot clearly says compact car, and she is against the flow. It took her 5 maneuvers to get in the spot. There was somebody there who told me is willing to be a witness, in case I needed one. He also showed me all around her car were scratches so this was not her first rodeo. We exchanged info and I called our ins right away. It's pretty straight forward but I was so mad that the woman was acting all entitled. Maybe that's why I don't like shopping at Whole Foods.
QOD - nothing major. Being in CA we don't get much of fall. When kids were in elementary school they had a harvest festival that I really enjoyed. Other than that our pumpkin picking for Halloween was the only fall related stuff.
My meals yesterday:
- Coffee
- Overnight rolled oats with pumpkin
- Iced coffee w/PP, pumpkin protein cheesecake, apple
- Beef birria with cauliflower thins
- E: weight + weight
Happy Jr Fri-yay!

Oh no, Sheila! What an idiot that woman was, my theory is ?if you can?t park it, you shouldn?t buy it?. Clearly she can?t park it!

LOL. The guy who offered to be my witness said the same thing. You can't park a big car, you don't drive a big car.

That's terrible. It's small consolation, but at least you were there to document it. I hope it doesn't cost you much in time and nerves to get it straightened out.

Sorry to hear that Sheila. I feel like the driving in parking lots has gotten much worse. People pull out without looking or speed through the aisles.

Ha, we are the land of the terrible TJs parking over here. Some of them have like 50 spots total. It should be illegal.
I'm glad you were not hurt and that insurance can take care of it, but what a pain!
