What's on your Monday Menu?
Thank you for asking!
Boys are doing well, our Oldest Alex is still using our spare bedroom as a home office, he works for a government contractor. Our youngest Ryley just started the new School Year as a Full Time History Teacher. He is working for a district that is an hour r/t commute.
We have not got another dog, was a very strange summer. Bethany was always by our side when working in the yard, seemed strange not to have my helper with me. We don't feel it would be fair for a new dog at this point in our life as we like to travel and do not know how much longer the oldest will be home ( he was home during the day the last 5 years)

Good to see you, Mike. I've been missing the opportunity to learn more about you and Australian life. I just can't access info about doing a shoey at my local library.

Good morning all. Regular Monday routine. Finally, a day of the week that feels like the actual day, instead of feeling like a Friday on a Wednesday, etc.
The Hollywood writers strike might be over. Crap. I haven't caught up on all my shows yet.
QOTD: I don't think I'd be happier somewhere else. I can imagine a lot of places I would be much less happy. I do admire a bunch of things about France. Having a general strike and some riots over the decision to raise the retirement age -- good for them. If we had a little more of that mindset we might not be hurtling toward a day when a few wealthy people own our entire country.
But if anyone needs help deciding where to move, here is a map that might help:

When I was a kid in New York the outdoor raccoons were pretty much our "pets". You could pet them and pick up the babies (didn't say it was a good idea, just that we did). There was an old pot that my mom would put out food in, like expired dog food that was brought home for them.
Once, we had plastic covering the opening where the back door was on the deck. They broke into the house and stole a cake wrapped in cling film out of the kitchen. My parents thought it was a real break-in until they found the licked-clean plastic by the shed out back. Little thieves. Generations of them hung around and the mommas would all bring their babies to meet us.
Sometimes I think back on my life and am grateful to have made it to adulthood.
