What's on your Wednesday Menu?
RNYers will always malabsorb some percentage of fats. The exact amount is debated, and probably varies. But we do absorb some, and unlimited butter is probably not a good plan.
But I don't do low fat anything. Low sugar, for sure. But not low fat.

Good morning ~ I hope you feel better and get some more rest today. I woke up with a headache and bit foggy but I rallied and went to the fitness room to work out but the three machines were taken. I'll walk when the sun comes up here in a little bit since I'm already dressed. Hoping I will have a good day while surrounded by high cal snacks and candy - it's ridiculous. I plan to stick to protein veg/fruit and the snacks I brought.
QOTD - When I was a kid, my mom would find nice antiques at tag sales. She would also buy fixer-uppers and redo them. I have a few of them - an old secretary desk, armoire and a rocking chair. They are my favorite pieces. The antiques markets in my area are so overdone and marked up it takes the fun out of the find and the possibilities.
b- coffee, eggs and fruit
l -TBD
D- walking somewhere to eat
s - jerky, salt and vinegar chicken chips
Have a great day!

That meme is me...
I didn't get myself in gear until late, I worked until about 6 after slacking most of the day.
My roommate finally delivered the extra bed we've had in the garage for the last year. It spent most if its time leaning up against the freezer and shelves. We have no where to put it, it was at his apartment and what I slept on while I was there. It would be nice to have a guest room but we are crammed already. And I've rarely ever had guests stay over.
It seems that everyone is getting rain but us. It's been a warm dry summer. I think we've only had one day of measurable rain so far. But I know it's coming. It is so dark in the morning now, the sun didn't come up until 6:55AM today. So the days are getting shorter...I feel winter out there lurking.
I've been trying to schedule an updated covid booster, but even though they say they are available I couldn't get an appointment there was one in October but then it was gone too. I'll keep looking.
Have a great day everyone!

It has not rained in Pittsburgh lately either. I heard a news caster say Pittsburgh will end up with the weather that San Diego used to have at some point. I guess it is something to look forward to. Go global warming.

Good morning, everybody!
I must admit that this new toaster has left me feeling somewhat inadequate. I thought I had it yesterday: cut sides out, setting on 6, even used the other side so I wouldn't mess with Marilyn's settings. I was pretty confident that I would nail it.
But Marilyn walked into the kitchen, took one look and said "why do you have it set on one slice instead of bagel?" Apparently the settings on the two sides are opposite of each other.
Of course this was followed by suggestions that my problem all along was that I was using the one slice setting. Not true and it doesn't explain why both sides were undercooked.
Well, we cancelled the one slice run and RE-did it with the setting on Bagel. Which resulted in a burnt bagel. A little knife scraping and self loathing followed.
Last night I wondered "am I even good enough to have this toaster?" I mean, I have to consult with Chrissy before I melt cheese. Maybe I'm fated to live with a plebeian appliance.
But I redeemed myself this morning: correct alignment, correct settings, and almost correct done-ness level. It was slightly more well done than I like, but a world of improvement. In the end, I think that I will end up as a 4.5 setting guy, but that's just details. The existential crisis is over and I'm now feeling better about my place in the scope of humanity.
Plus all of this toasting has narrowed my cost per use down into the double digits, so I'm winning there.
Happy Hour tonight. We have one those mozzarella and prosciutto rolls and Triscuits, not sure if I need anything else.
QOTD: in theory yes, but it's been a long time.
Breakfast: bagel
lunch: roast beef
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day all!

Who knew toast was so complicated. My $12.00 toaster has really kept my breakfast simple, lol

You don't make Cylon toast? I'm disappointed.
