Happy Hump Day! Today had a distinctly Thursday vibe for me, but I am actually glad it's not because I am feeling the burn to get this paper done on time. I know I will be early because I always am, but I'd feel much better if time would freeze until it's done, please!

I feel like it's time for a check-in about the progress from my battle against regain. I started restricting down to 500 calories a day a little over 7 weeks ago. Today I am down a little under 7 pounds, so it's basically resulted in losing a pound a week. It didn't look like a straight line, though, more like a zig-zag! I'm both glad that it's working (I know that a pound a week is solid progress), but also -- 500 calories sucks! I'm discouraged because once I am down another 10lbs, I will probably have to go down lower to keep losing. Is life worth living at 400 calories a day? TBD.

QOTD: If you could host a podcast what would it be about? Assuming I don't have a friend's murder to solve, I think this menu crew should all get together and have a group podcast about the day-to-day lives of post-op RNYers. Between us, we represent vets, super-vets, newbies, athletes, regain struggles, regain successes, multiple age ranges, etc. If I was considering surgery I would love to hear a podcast from all kinds of people who have a variety of experiences.

Accountability: Spot on yesterday.

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Yay for your loss and all the progress! 400 calories a day sounds truly dismal.

QOTD- This one isn't for me. I'm not a podcast person. Love your idea, though!

Today includes 7 hours of meetings kicking off at 8:30, including an interview on one of my projects. I'll do a couple hours of prep for everything after posting.

Menu is grabbable food. Built bar, boiled eggs, sliced turkey and cheese, pork cube steak for dinner. Kiwi, grapes, seaweed, blueberries.

Make today a good one! I'm behind on reading and such so hope everyone is doing okay!

Good morning and Happy Wednesday everyone! Halfway to the weekend!

Busy workday today plus I'm meeting some girlfriends to see a special screening of Golda, with a follow up (already filmed) Q&A/interview with Helen Mirren and Liev Schreiber (they play Golda Mier and Henry Kissinger, respectively). We expect it to be very good. I'll also wrap up this month's rowing challenge with my half hour of rowing today. Still not happy about virtual trophies vs the magnets.

Had a nice surprise yesterday, they showed up to re-install my solar panels (they were off while my roof was being replaced) and I am generating power once again! They were off a bit over a month so I'll get one more electric bill without them.

I probably should download the book for my bookclub, I've been waiting for it to come in at the library but I'm sill 27th in line, it probably won't be in time for our book discussion and I do need time to read it. Historical fiction is not my favorite but at least it's short, under 400 pages. With books I'm not excited about, I treat it like a reading assignment and get through X pages a day....I can knock this one out pretty easy.

QOTD - I could do a great pop culture podcast and my friends that I do the Oscar party with have always thought we should do a live podcast of our conversation during the redcarpet and show, lol.

menu today

coffee plus half and half X3

ratio yogurt

deli smoked turkey and cheese on small bun

maybe popcorn, maybe a built bar

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

I do love Lisa See! Our book club last month was The Tiger's wife and I still don't get it. This month is The Island of Missing Trees. I did not love it, but I did find some parts very poignant and at least I was able to connect with some of the characters. Unlike The Tiger's Wife.

I am at 473 for the year so far, so 73 ahead of where I should be at the end of august. I have a lot of travel coming up but I am confident that I will hit/exceed my 600 goal for the year!
