Good Morning and Happy Happy Friday! Despite its rough start, I had a nice day yesterday. I got lots of things checked off my to-do list, then we had a late lunch/ early dinner with Grim's daughter at a new BBQ place that opened up near us on Tuesday. After that, I had a cookie order pick up at a Starbucks, and then I went shopping. All in all a very nice day. The restaurant was good. They were definitely working the kinks out with service but it was a nice meal and I am happy we have a new spot with good brisket nearby!

I am supposed to see my old professor / mentor / friend today. She is such a fun person--she's ungodly rich and she loves to travel and be adventurous. Every year she goes on at least one giant 1 - 3 month trip and the rest of the time, she splits her time between living in Cambridge MA and Sausalito CA, but over the last few years she is only in MA a few weeks every summer. This year she is going to Antarctica (At 76 years old) and PP was kind enough to chat with her yesterday. I have a text saying PP "is delightful" (of course she is!) Anyway, I didn't see her last summer when she was in town because she got COVID so I have been looking forward to seeing her this week. But I woke up with a sore throat this morning! I'll test before I go, and I hope I get to see her.

Pics of cookies this week:

QOTD: Pick one extreme diet for the rest of your life: Raw Paleo (Hunter Gatherer); Vegan, or a Single Food Diet. I think I would pick Vegan, but I would have a serious cheese funeral.

Accountability: On track all day but for dinner I had a taco salad with brisket which involved some tortilla chips. I also had a few bites of Grim's Mac & Cheese and ommmmggggg, so good.

I really don't know what will happen with meals today. Hopefully, I am meeting my friend at 11:30 and she usually has her maid prepare us a fancy cheese plate and wine and bring it to us on the patio by the coy fish pond (I really need to have her life). Then for dinner I will probably have leftovers from the taco salad.

Have a great weekend!

I love how you call it "Grim's Mac and Cheese," even though I'll never eat a bite.

Brisket yesterday, brisket today -- not a terrible life.

QOTD: I've never done an extreme diet. Though millions of people try to mimic the Grim Diet. I can, usually after a long period of angst and self recriminations, eat less than I had been eating. But I can't say that I can eat differently.

Or bat-fowling or flap-dragon.

I'm guessing giglet would be taken as a compliment today.

GRIIIIIIIIIM!
Started watching hijack last night and finished it at 2:00 am. Couldn't stop because I felt I was on the plane and had to see how it ends. Thanks for the rec, anything else like this pls me know.
I can't believe small minded bigots complained about Idris Elba possibly being the next James Bond. He oozes charm and masculinity.

He's a perfect Bond. 014, not 007.

Your Shakespearian insult list just broadened my language horizons the littlest bit. This is my new favorite thing.
