Hi,

First time posting in the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum. There has been times I've posted in the VSG Forum, but it's been a long time since I've posted there.

Anyway, the reason I'm posting here is that I'm having a revising surgery from the Sleeve to the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass with intraoperative EGD, laparoscopic choiecystectomy. Also, a hiatal hernia repair on 08/21/2023. I had my VSG done on 06/08/2010.

I did lose the weight from the VSG surgery, but the the weight came back on over time, but I'm still under my heaviest weight. I'm happy I'm having the revision, I'm a bit nervous about my upcoming surgery (3-in-1). I already did all the jumping through the hoops and all I have to do now is on 0/19/2023 is a "Phone Consult" and wait between 2:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. for that phone call when to show-up at the hospital on 08/21/2023.

Has anyone had a revision from the VSG to the RNY with or without a gallbladder removal and/or a hiatal hernia repair?

Thanks in advance,

Watson

I have not, but it's a very common revision. Someone will likely see this, but tomorrow morning post your question on the Thursday menu thread. More people will see it, and I know some regulars there who are revisions.

Okay, that's good to know. Okay, where can I find the Thursday menu thread at? That'll be great to hear from some of the regulars there there who are revisions.

I had a revision about a month after getting my gallbladder out. I had to have it due to severe acid reflux. It was easier on me than my initial VSG. You won't lose weight as easily as the initial surgery, it'll be slower. I felt so much better after the RNY.

The daily menu thread is usually posted around 6-7 am eastern time. Sometimes sooner sometimes later depending on the day. There is a wealth of information on it!

Good luck!

Mel

I hope you're doing good on both the revision and your gallbladder? With me, it's due to sludge and stones. That's good to hear about it being easier on you than the initial VSG. I think I've read that some where before, seems like it. I bet it will be. Great, I hope it's the same with me in feeling much better after the RNY.

That's good to know! Thanks!

Thanks, I need the luck!

Also, thanks for the info.!
