What's on your Thursday Menu?
Good Morning! Friday-Eve! You are winning the fish taco lottery, enjoy them! Well, yesterday didn't go as planned. When I was going out to water the plants right before I leave for work I saw someone had hit Em's car while it was parked at the curb. It was a hit and run and the car's front end is damaged pretty bad. After walking up and down the street asking neighbors if their security/ring systems caught anything we know this: An SUV or truck was driving in reverse down the road (who knows why?) and backed into Em's car (which John was parked in front of her but they missed his car). Pulled forward, made a three point turn, got out and checked their vehicle, got back in, starting driving and briefly stopped and eyed Em's car then sped off down the street. Sorry I know that's a mouthful to try and describe. Unfortunately, because it was at 1:20 AM the recordings are so dark we can't clearly identify the make/model/color/license plate but it's at least enough for insurance to know Em's not at fault at all. Police report filed, rental car in possession (John has to drive it and Em will drive his car) and insurance adjuster coming today. We are grateful nobody was in the car and that it'll all be okay but that doesn?t make it any less frustrating. Again, sorry for the ramble.
QOTD: I remember having a "Fluffy" when I was probably 5 but we moved into a rental house that didn't allow pets so we had to rehome her. We stayed in the rental the rest of my childhood and most of the time it was fish, hamsters and birds.

No need to apologize! That's what we're here for :o)
I hate to hear that about Em's car. It totally sucks. Same thing happened to my SIL's car last year. They totaled it and never stopped. Police wouldn't even let them file a report. Why can some folks be so rotten?

Oh no! Sorry about the car. I am glad you were able to document that you (Em) weren't at fault for the damage since insurance companies can be buggers about paying for damages. My insurance deductible was less when the other driver was at fault but didn't have insurance. Hoping the same for you.
DD has a couple of Quaker Parrots. Now that she is getting closer to college, she realizes that maybe they weren't the best choice of pets since 1) they are very loud so not a good choice for rental living, 2) loooong life span. DD says that she did analyze these angles before getting the birds but maybe reality is different that visualizing the future.

As far as I know, people have no problems rehoming birds. My friend was always getting free birds from people who underestimate how much work it takes and how much mess they do.

That terrible. Its absolutely amazing that in this day and age of doorbell cameras anyone thinks they can get away with anything like that anymore but somehow it seems like there are more hit and run accidents on the news every day! I'm just glad she was safe!
Hit and runs are the worst! You just brought me back to an Easter Sunday when I woke to find my 3 mo. old Dodge Charger pushed up on the sidewalk with an accident report and note 'hit and run ' under my windshield wiper.
I hope there's a cold seat on a bus waiting for Karma to take it's course.
