What's on your Saturday menu?

So did I. Loved those books because it was such a different world. Of course, the lens I apply at my current age is a lot different from 7 year old me. :)

Mornin' Weekenders!
the rugbrod (Danish rye bread) will finally be made today! I am so excited! I hope it tastes half as good as the stuff I had in Denmark. Also, my brother leaves later this morning. And later this afternoon, after the bread is out of the oven, I may take a couple of DVD's I need to watch (for my upcoming film discussion groups) over to my MIL's to watch (she's in respite care now, so not home yet). I used to watch them on my old laptop (my "new" laptop, about 3 or 4 years old, doesn't have a DVD drive), but the drive on that old laptop is close to death's door. We have a built-in DVD drive on one of our TVs, but the TV is pretty small. MIL has a flat screen TV that's much bigger than our tube model, so it'd be great to watch the films on that instead of on ours. So...I'll do it!
QOTD: lectures for my classes, of course!
B: plain skyr with strawberry compote, thin slice of sourdough zucchini bread, coffee with half & half
L: bagged salad (with either Greek yogurt on the side - or maybe some chickpeas on top of the salad - for protein)
AS: protein muffin
D: black bean dal and sauteed zucchini & tomatoes (finally - this has been on my menu for the last couple of days, but I've opted for something else)
ex: something. Maybe biking if it's not too humid
have a great day, everyone!
I got into a total redoing of my home office this week. At the moment, the painting is done, but everything is still pulled out and needing to be reorganized. I am going to bite the bullet and replace the desk, file cabinet, bookcase and printer stand that I bought in 1993. My choice for today is to work on that or go and get a mani-pedi. I know my nails will win. The work will patiently wait for me to return.

Would definitely pick the mani/pedi. Hmm. That's a good idea. Still haven't found a good nail place around here, though.

Morning! I am waiting for my class to start in a minute and as soon as it ends at 11, we are jumping in the car to go to ShakerCon :) I'm packed up and ready to go!
QOTD: Audiobooks are the best for long stretches of cookie decorating. I also like a good 8 -10 part podcast that I can dive into. It really helps pass the time.
Accountability/Menu: I was on track yesterday! I am not sure exactly what this weekend will bring, but all the food is served at the conference, so I hope there are decent choices. At least we won't be able to snack. Tonight is a lobstah dinnah. Yay!
I listen to audiobooks in the car, meal prepping, and housework. Does make the time pass. Have fun at the conference.
