Mornin everyone!

I woke up with a sore throat that I'm guessing I picked up from my niece Rachel. She accidentally coughed in my face Tuesday evening. Kids are great at being Petri dishes aren't they? If it sticks around until tomorrow I'll ask my GP about it since I have an appointment tomorrow.

Lots riding on my appointment tomorrow. I am going to ask and see about a different pain clinic referral and to see if he can give me a muscle relaxer I can use during the day. Also stuff with my diabetes.

We'll likely get groceries today. I've decided to make real food despite the heat. Really go back to paying attention to portion control. I need to buy some bowls to put some of it in the freezer. I've decided on a few recipes. I'm still going to try and avoid using the big oven as much as possible while it's hot. I need to get some fish and shrimp. Maybe some ground chicken or turkey. I still have an issue with really dense proteins. I've only gained back 5 pounds of what I lost and considering my eating that might be a small miracle.

QOTD: I've mentioned that I took care of my grandparents. It was a true test of character not only for me but everyone in the family. While I had bad moments I think I passed the test. As for their actual children, besides my mom who also helped, failed with a big fat F. I'm not saying that to be mightier or whatever. I helped them shower, cleaned up after them, cooked and mainly kept them company. I was basically my grandpa's main caregiver. My mom was still working. I love and loved that man...for all sense and purposes he was my dad and I respected him. It was my biggest honor to help him keep as much dignity as possible for as long as possible. My grandma was split with my mom and me. We all clashed a lot but we still took good care of her needs. While she had a biting tongue sometimes I had to remember who her parents were and how much better she was than them...she did the best she could.

guess I'm talkative this mornin! Sorry for that!

B: JUST egg bowl , yogurt and coffee

L: 1 pupusa and maybe a taco

D: I'm going to make some pumpkin soup. One of the recipes I found

S: small bag popcorn, watermelon, maybe a no sugar added fudgesicle

Reading that, I can tell how much you admire your grandpa.

Mornin' All!

my brother and I are planning to see "Oppenheimer" today if we can get seats together (I'm too cheap to pay the "convenience fee" that this stupid place is charging if you buy tix online). If not, I'll see if I can buy tickets when we're at the box office for a later screening- or for one tomorrow. My brother reminded me that my financial advisor told me I should "loosen up" with money - but sorry, to me that doesn't include spending an extra $4 for a "convenience fee" (or for seeing a film in the evening when I can easily go to a matinee).

I'm still working getting caught up on classes. Almost there with my "fatness" class. I had a lot of catching up to do with my evolutionary anthropology class, though, so I spent a few hours yesterday focusing on that one. I've just finished week 5 (even though we're really in week 7 - next week is the last week!). Wow - such an interesting week, after a not-so-interesting week (#4) on genes and alleles. The week I was working on last night (#5) was mostly the professor interviewing a handful of nationally and internationally known primatologists. So interesting. Too bad I'm not back in college deciding on a major. Oh well- I can always read!

QOTD: I'm not a believer, either, but I do try to be kind and help out when I can.

B: probably protein pancakes with plain skyr and fruit again. Coffee with half & half.

MS: protein shake

L: bagged salad. And maybe some black bean chips with hummus since they're super filling to the point that they sometimes (the chips anyway) irritate my stomach, which may keep me from getting popcorn at the movie (raw veggies have the same effect - although I'm currently out of them)

AS: protein muffin

D: I think the fam is going out to dinner together tonight - so...not sure. Something safe.

have a great day, everyone!
