I had to Google sugar eyes because surely it's something different than what it sounds like. Nope. It's really a thing. Amazing! You guys must be so organized. I lose everything in my tiny galley kitchen from stuffing it everywhere and not being able to remember if I really do still have Sumac or muscovado sugar.

menu today will be

coffee plus half and half X2

sourdough toast with pb and a bit of marmalade

cheese and salami

L&F greek yogurt

im getting ready to sting a few actually this very morning. We were turned down the fourth time for the apartment we want. Since we totally 1000 percent qualify the only possible reason for rejection is racism.

Im extremely light / bright but my Moms id looks black .... Which she is and proudly owns that fact . We should not be getting rejected due to misconceptions about our race.

How is your mom's leg? Is she recovering well from her fall?

Few questions:

1)Your mom is East European and looks black?

2) is your mom moving in with you? Or do you need her to co-sign the rent contract?
3) aren't your parents retired in Florida?

I'm very curious and following the apartment saga with bated breath.

Technically I suppose my Mom looks " Sicilian" which yes is a version of "black " ... curly dark hair non cracking skin a beautiful body and affectionate and caring towards her husband and one kid . My Mom is just wonderful and her leg is better thank God . She's entering rehab for a month and then coming home.

Don't tell that to Sicilians! They are NOT black nor consider themselves black.
I have dark curly hair and at the moment I am very tanned, but I would never consider myself black nor do I pretend to know what black people go through when they are are discriminated against.
Another point: East European is not Sicilian. You had said your mom is Hungarian, East European, just trying to keep my geography straight.

So...just to catch up, your parents moved up to NY from their retirement in Fl, because of your mom's leg, and then they move in with you?

She forgot her mom is East European when she made up this story.
