What's on your Saturday menu?

Good mornin everyone!
Not. Lot planned for the day here. I'm hoping to take it easy. Who knows what my mom has planned though.
I couldn't get ahold of my surgeons office yesterday. So I'll be doing that Monday first thing at 8. I do feel quite a bit better but still really fatigued. I never know when it'll start bothering me more or less. My mom made me some potato soup yesterday and it was nice to have something savory rather than the sweet protein shakes.
QOTD: what is your favorite soup or stew? If you like them that is.
mine is a good hamburger stew. Lots of veggies please! Potato soup is a close second. It is what my grandma would make me when I was sick. Supreme comfort food for me. Also a package of ramen is what my grandpa and me would eat together. I miss those folks so so much.
food is protein shakes, a bowl of soup and a yogurt thrown in there somewhere.

Good morning Mel and weekend menuers,
Glad there's some improvement for today. It's up and down for sure.
QOTD- Hands down a good New England clam chowder at the moment, followed by matzoh ball chicken soup in good stock, then maybe stew. Will have to give this hamburger soup thing a try if you have a recipe you're willing to share.
I'm at the store picking up a few groceries now. Making stock is on my list of things to do today, as is more food prep stuff. I need to do some planning. And cleaning. And laundry.
Yesterday I had a weird episode that resulted in a couple hours of severe pain, cramps, and emesis. Not sure what triggered it but I can still feel everything again and my guts are very loud today. Lots of water is on my menu.
Today is my one year surgiversary. What a year it's been. No regrets. I've learned a lot!
Accountability- Menu went out the window after this happened at around 12pm. Again, I'd already eaten a good bit. I did have soup for dinner, so did okayish with protein overall.
Exercise- Store walking. Recumbent bike. Still have to move!
Menu - Going to be ambitious and try for the following
Breakfast - Thin slice of Dave's killer bread with turkey and cheese, toasted
Second breakfast - Snack stick, rambutan and seaweed
Elevensies - some kind of tinned seafood. I'm thinking sardines or oysters with dill Triscuits
Lunch - Gravlax smoked salmon on Mestemacher pumpernickel bread. Maybe with a smear of cream cheese
Dinner - Chicken sausage with bell pepper
Supper - Roasted pork loin

I remember my dad eating canned sardines when I was a kid. I was like "eeww, yuck!" Still no interest in trying them. You like the seafood I noticed. I do like a good smoked salmon chowder.

I'll admit, sardines took a long time and I can still only handle skinless and boneless in a good olive oil. And I can't do fishy fish but yep, definitely a seafood person! I would rather have it all day than most other proteins. I do believe in variety though and keep on trying all the other things!
Smoked salmon chowder sounds amazing! Wonder if I could make that with some Tsar Nicoulai salmon. Hmm.

Mel-I hope you start feeling better.
I want to thank everyone for their compassion and heartfelt support. It is very much appreciated. That is what I love about this site, the close community and actual caring for each other.
Today, I will be packing up to get ready for the girls week trip with DD and one of her friends. I have revised the start of the trip due to the events of last week. Originally, we were to leave early this morning but just wasn't feeling it. We will leave tomorrow. Our plan is to make several stops in Montana for different fun things like hiking, gold panning, the Lewis and Clark Caverns, ghost town, hot springs and massage, zip lining and some museums. In Butte Montana, we plan to eat at the oldest running chinese restaurant in the country. We will spend a little time with some family also. Should be fun. I am looking forward to it. I do like to travel with DD, she is always flexible and willing to try new things. We seem to like to do the same things also. Other than that, I need to get my nails repainted as they are chipping the gel polish off (just had them done several days ago), yoga, maybe dinner out with the family.
I finished my month long course of prednisone. It was prescribed to rule out untested autoimmune diseases related to elevated liver enzymes. I had the follow-up liver enzymes drawn yesterday and there were no changes to the enzyme levels. Therefore, they are not related to an autoimmune process. Maybe medications. I suppose now they will want me to stop taking my PPI and anti-depressant to see if that will bring down my levels. Not sure I am interested in that. We will see.
QOTD: I prefer cream soups. I make a mean Chicken and Wild Rice soup, potato and corn chowders are also yummy. I rarely eat soup or stew anymore since surgery.
My meals are my usual but maybe dinner out with DS. TBD. I kind of want to eat on plan since I will be traveling all next week so meals with be up in the air.

The thing with ranges is that some people will just naturally be outside of them. It's math really; it sounds like the have ruled out everything that could be concerning and you probably just need to decide how much more you want to dig. There are medical mysteries that really need to be solved and some that just don't but become a crusade for a specific doc. I say that as someone whose liver enzymes have been over the range since 2000, they went up during rapid weight loss but then dropped back to my "normal" which is elevated.

Good morning ~ I'm happy to hear of your mom taking care of you and I hope you feel better. Yesterday was great, until the evening and was sick with what I believe was food poisoning. It was a really rough night, still not feeling well and plan to take it easy for as long as I need. All the things can wait.
QOTD - Chicken and dumplings are my favorite - so good and my boys love it too.
Menu up in the air, may stick with liquids today. I'd love to ride out this weight loss and make it stick. It motivated me honestly.
Have a great day!
