You should have seen the comments on that post. People were saying just give him a board and let him surf, or he is just trying to figure out if he is a long boarder or short boarder. Of course the tree huggers are saying it's their ocean, we are taking over, let him have his fun.

Keep away from the wildlife.....but what if the wildlife is actively stalking me? I hope they are able to catch him and put him somewhere he can be happy and maybe has a supply of driftwood so he can make his own surfboards, lol.

Oh wow, attack otter. I hope they relocate it...much respect for wild animals. Otter can be mean!

Don't you love it when you're the youngest person in the room? Been running into that all my life, whether it's the shows and events I go to or the jobs I hold. Up until recently, I looked a good deal younger than I am, which is both a bane and a boon. Glad you have fun hobbies. The pieces I've seen that you've made are astounding.

Supposedly her mom, it's a she otter, was taken to Monterey Bay Aquarium for the same aggressive traits. She was born in captivity and released at the end of 2021 into the ocean. Some people say she is used to people hence approaching them, as if when she was interacting with her handlers. But the fact that she is biting and scratching could be 1) the heck with you humans, 2)I don't like the wild life and fending for myself, take me back in, 3)genetics, inherited from mom. The jury is out!

It has been an eventful week for me. As I was getting ready to log onto obesityhelp I received a call from my sister who informed me that my mom was found unresponsive at home and that her friend had to do CPR. This was totally unexpected since she had been doing better at home, being independent while still getting home PT/OT. IT turns out she had a heartbeat and decent BP but breathing was labored. After arrival at the ER, we (me and sisters) had to make a decision regarding care. Mom had a DNR but intubation and testing were ok. They were thinking stroke based on how she looked and lack of response. I asked them to intubate and get a head CT to see if we had a treatable condition. Unfortunately, the head CT showed a massive bleed. We are not really sure why since she was not on any blood thinners. At that point we knew there was no hope, we asked the hospital to keep her on the ventilator until me and my sister who lives in Seattle arrived. I left Spokane and headed to Montana on Monday arriving in the evening. My older sister arrived around 1 am. We decided to meet at the hospital in the morning when we would move mom to comfort care and remove the ventilator. Mom was kept comfortable on morphine and Ativan after life support was removed. She eventually passed around 4:15pm. It was a long day, emotional. Mom had already pre-paid and planned most of her cremation services but there have been so many things to decide and plan. It is overwhelming and emotional. We are planning on her service on Aug 3. That is one of the nice things about cremation, you have a chance to step back and look/decide rationally. I am tired and haven't really had a chance to process. Yesterday when I drove home I kept thinking I needed to let mom know I arrived home safely.
