Good Morning everyone! I'm happy to report that my first day of the Capstone went well. My project is about an online diamond retailer so it's sort of interesting, I guess. This first week doesn't have a ton of work, but next week is going to be a beast, and that's when I have 9 dozen custom cookies due plus another cookie class to prep for, so I need to try to get ahead now.

This weekend should be fun. We are going to hang out with Grim's brother at his new house for a bbq tomorrow, and then Grim's daughter is going to be my "elf" at my Christmas in July class cookie class on Sunday. I'll be glad to get this particular class behind me!

QOTD: What are misconceptions that the public has about either your job or your hobby? I think there is a misconception that online degree classes are easier than in person classes, but personally, I think it's the opposite!

Accountability: 616 calories yesterday. Also--I turned down an offer for a lobster roll today. Is that commitment or what?

Wow you do so much, it makes me tired to think about it. Christmas in July sounds like so much fun and having an elf is really cute.

As a tax preparer, one of the biggest misconceptions that I see is people being mad at the IRS when tax laws change.

Tax laws are created and passed by congress and the IRS just is in charge of enforcing them. The IRS has no control over the laws at all. They are just employees doing their job. I know they take a lot of abuse.

The IRS is extremely understaffed and people get upset when they hear that the IRS is going to hire more agents. More agents will mean faster processing and better results for everyone.

Congress passes the laws, but Treasury writes the regulations. In my areas of practice, regulations can be significantly more complex than the laws that they are interpreting.

Being the "victim" of 2 IRS tax audits I am not a fan of the IRS. Nor do I think we need more agents. But I am biased. Lol. I am sure it's not an easy job and probably no one is happy to see you knocking on their door.

Good morning all. The thunder and lightning were crazy here this morning. Now the sun is glaring and the deluge will resum in a few hours.

I'm going up to NH this morning, and I'll be 33 minutes from JBs most happiest lobster roll joint in the world, and she said no. That's willpower. She's been working her new plan, hard, the way she does everything. The hardest part, those first few days, are behind her. Now I get to sleep without needing a silver bullet and a crucifix.

This **** is hard. Really hard. And it never leaves us be.

It really is a never-ending battle. Are you two willing to share the name of said lobster roll joint? Juuuust in case a road trip happens in that area?

The Clam Shack in Kennebunkport. In our experience, all the finest restaurants have "shack," "shanty," or "hut" in their name.

That's JBs happy place! Toss french fries right into the water and watch the seagulls fight the fish for them.

Ah ha, thanks! It's been on my list, mainly cause clams are my jam. I've been to Bob's and Mike's and a bunch more. I remember the first time driving up the coast to Bar Harbor back in around 2003 and discovering the shacks and shanties. Ah, memories!
