I would love that. I used to roast garlic in the microwave all the time. I loved it but it was not kind to my digestive system and I quit doing that.

Garlic toum is almost spicy, due to the raw garlic - much stronger than roasted garlic! If you have Trader Joes, they have it in the area where hummus and dips are - give it a try!

My niece was a lifeguard at the pool I went to for years. They loved to hear a rumble of thunder and call a 45 minute break. When I was growing up there were stories about kids being killed by lightening in the pool. We were told not to wear a bathing suit with a zipper because the metal in the zipper would attract lightening. That was before plastic zippers were invented.

I suppose it's happened. But I have never, ever heard of lightning striking someone in the water. Or striking a pool, with or without someone it it.

You are right that it does not seem to happen, but I would not take a chance and swim during a lightening storm.

Here you go, happened here last year (the pool fortunately no people in it, thanks to the lifeguards). We also had some lifeguards sent to the hospital a few years ago when it hit the apron around the pool after they had cleared the people from the pool area but were moving the chairs into a safe place. We get a lot of lightning here.

Yikes. Fortunately, I'm a well-grounded person.

Oh if there was lightning or even ongoing thunder I would understand. But one tiny faraway rumble and it's like the lifeguards are filled with glee at making everyone sit outside of the pool for 45 minutes. Seems excessive!

Molly told me that she loved hearing a rumble of thunder and making everyone get out of the pool for 45 minutes. They got paid for their time and could goof off on the clock. It was party time for the lifeguards.

lightning can travel further than the sound of thunder, I think like 15-20 miles. That's how people get hit out of a clear blue sky, the storm is miles away.
