I always used to dream about having a farm and raising livestock as a lot of pets. I imagined it would be like having my own personal petting zoo. I never actually took care of any livestock so never had to face the reality of how much work would be involved.

I am glad the knee is getting better. I did not get Wordle at all yesterday and used up all my guesses. Got on third try today.

When people hear I have space they often mention me getting all the things they associate with it, whether that's cows, chickens, or in the case of last week, zebu. I would love to have more of a working farm but I'm cognizant enough to know I don't have the time or energy to keep up with it right now. Maybe it could be a hobby farm when I retire in...a long time.

On an interesting note, zebu guy and I got to talking about fruit trees since I want to plant some but have been waiting because I know there's a lot of clay in my soil. He was telling me about a varietal developed for the area and how the department of ag will even come out and test your soil. I bet it's because he works in the government but I'm going to reach out and learn more about potential services offered. Still not buying zebu, which he was trying to market as mini cows. Ha.

Mornin' All!

another night of four hours sleep - WTF is going on? An occasional night - maybe once or twice a month - is not unusual, but this has been going on for at least two weeks now UGH!! I'm hoping I'm not going to start getting major brain fog because of it!!

I have a long-ish meeting this afternoon (12:30-3:00), but that's it. Otherwise, I'm going to continue getting stuff knocked off my to-do list. I really regret I'm not spending a lot more time researching Scandinavia before my trip, but stuff keeps popping up that I need to deal with. Anyway, exercise-wise, I'll either go to water aerobics this morning or bike to and from the meeting this afternoon, if the weather cooperates (it's about 15 miles round trip, but I can go around the lake instead which jacks it up to about 22 miles).

QOTD: nope, just cats

B: protein shake, coffee with half & half

MS: skyr with strawberry compote

L: I'll probably be eating it during my bike ride (if I bike to the meeting, that is), so a protein bar

AS: they're going to have "refreshments" at this meeting, so I should probably take a second protein bar - or a Keto bar

D: leftover zucchini gratin unless DH wants it - otherwise, bagged salad and some kind of protein

have a great day, everyone!

Maybe you are entering a phase where you just need less sleep.

could be. Neither my mother nor my MIL sleeps much - maybe 4 or 5 hours a night. I am so beat right now, though. Very little sleep - plus I did do that 22-mile bike ride today, I think I'll just veg for the rest of the day....

I went for years on five or so hours of sleep. Then my body changed and now I sleep eight or more hours. As long as you feel rested and are able to function during the day, I don't think it is worth worrying about. When people would tell me I did not get enough sleep I would tell them I planned to do plenty of resting after I am dead.
