This is all on me and trying to speed read. So this is what I read "I have never raised livestock...but I did have a girlfriend!" That stopped me in my tracks and LOL.

Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,

Yeah that you are getting relief. Hope this is the beginning of the end. Nothing exciting going on today. It was cold and raining when I got up to run so I rolled over. Yippee for your knee looking and feeling better AND wordle on the second try. It will be a good day. The meme is cute BTW.

Lots of meeting today at work, the usual paperwork. Not much else planned. An update on the workup for the elevated liver enzymes. All tests for auto-immune disorders have been negative so far, biopsy also negative for cirrhosis. Now the GI provider has put me on a course of prednisone taper that goes for a month. I was a little hesitant on doing that because of the water retention. I already notice that my tummy looks watered over. It is a pretty decent dose starting at 40mg daily x7 days then taper each week by 10mg (30mg, 20, 10). The idea is that if the liver enzymes are elevated by an auto-immune process that wasn't identified with previous testing the prednisone will cause a decrease in the liver enzymes at the end of the prednisone taper. If no change, perhaps the elevations are related to medications. TBD.

QOTD: Nope, just the usual dogs and cats. My kids caught a couple of frogs when they were younger that we kept and a hamster or two. DD has 2 quaker parrots but no actual livestock.

Accountability: On track.

Different day with usual meals.

E: lifting (leg workout), 60 min yoga

I had a turtle as a kid, but dad chucked it out when they heard they carry salmonella. Poor Guy.

My neighbor got rid of the turtle when her son got salmonella poisoning. After that the pet stores stopped selling them. Sometime around 1975, I think. They used to sell them very cheaply and sell a little turtle container that had a place for water and a plastic palm tree.

Many kids had them and the boys would carry the turtle in their pocket. When it became illegal to sell them, kids would just go and find one in a pond. I remember some of them had beautiful markings on the underside of their shell. Salmonella is a miserable and sometimes deadly disease, so I am glad that they no longer sell turtles as pets.

My sister had a box turtle that lived outside for years. Her kids knew not to touch it. Any turtle can have the salmonella germ.

Huh. I could swear I've seen sliders at pet stores as recently as ten years ago. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me. One of my best friends has kept tortoises for decades. She's got one right now and knows more about those guys than I ever will. All I know is how delicious turtle soup is. She wasn't exactly amused by that comparison.

my dad did the same thing with our turtles. I was crushed. That must have been late 60s/early 70s, because we were living in Kent (Ohio) then.
