Quick post! JB...rest and get better. Meds?

QOTD- Sometime in the 90's. I was big into doing my nails for a while and had dozens of colors and kits so I could have fancy tips and designs. That lasted about a year and people would ask me to do their nails. Now I keep short nails and polish bugs me. Practicality for the win!

As always with the caveat, we were poor so I never had name brands or designer clothes or cared to. I was immune to that whole world and still largely am, thankfully. Plenty of other things to spend money on. :)

Excited that I booked my flights to Quito yesterday. Galapagos is fully booked and now I just need to worry about details. Got travel insurance for the first time.

Menu is same. Have a great day!

I was somewhat shocked by the cost of travel insurance. It is more than 10% of my trip cost. Has it always been that expensive? I never bought it before, but it does make sense now that I am concerned about health issues.

It does cost more the older you are (higher risk).

That makes sense, I just had not thought about it. Thanks.

I didn't realize it until my aunt and I both had to get insurance for our Antarctica trip. There was a clear price differential!

yes - it's the medical part of it that is higher. I calculated out the cost for both me and DH (even though DH isn't going on the trip). He's 10 years younger than me - and yep, the cost for him was definitely cheaper.

I'd never purchased it before. Most of my travel has been very budget conscious and took a ton of planning, so when I'm taking red eye flights with no carryon item to save money, I couldn't justify adding a big chunk. This time, it was only $51, which was less than 10% of the ticket price.

I think it was Jim that said don't spend what you aren't prepared to lose. I'd always gone that route, but with my current state I want some peace of mind!

Good morning. I?m loving the location this morning. Not loving the visiting. We are in a real nice park in Eugene, Oregon and while there is a freeway on one side of the park, our view is all greenery, mountains and fields. I power walked yesterday afternoon in the heat and I?ve already been out and done this morning and added some calisthenics and stretching. Done for the day.

Yesterday I kept my head in the game and ate well except for one caramel chew. I was totally freaked out because our lunch visiting didn?t happen until after two and so knowing I wouldn?t make it, I ate a couple ounces of pork near noon and then a low calorie menu selection at the restaurant. Come 7 pm I was starving and was all worried that I?d eaten so much already. But then I realized that I actually just switched up my lunch and afternoon snack time and settled down and let myself have some left over chicken and couple ounces of sweet potato. Sometimes I just need to get out of my own way. Only zero calorie beverages were consumed.

I have to do another lunch visit today and I?m not thrilled. But it?s Roger?s family and I will keep a smile on my face and make it through. And then I am done. I will NOT let frustration lead me to dumping wine down my throat. My mantra for the day.

Fingers crossed that you don't crack a tooth biting your tongue and grinning through it! Is today the last day visiting with them? You can do it! You so hard things all the time!!

Thank you. Yes, just one more lunch with a couple added people. If I can make it through all the dog whistles and thinly veiled racism and anti lgbtq comments, then I actually will have earned wine. And an award. I have not seen these people in probably 5-7 years and there is a real reason for it.
