We had to remove 2 huge trees from MIL's house, due to the storms we've had. The final price for the two trees (to include hauling them away) was around $5K!!!

Getting a tree to fall over is easy. It's a little harder if you care what it falls on. But getting rid of the tree after, that's the hardest part.

We had a couple of 50 year old maple trees removed a year ago. Big trees. They had an enormous crane that lifted the entire thing up in the air and fed it into the chipper, trunk and all. I was amazed.

That's wild! And what you said about where...is exactly why I'm handling this now. These trees easily top 50+ feet. When they fall...everything here will know about it.

A friend of mine's hubs suggested I do it myself. She knows better now that she's been out since some of the branches in these trees are bigger than some other trees!

That's no joke! They're charging more to take this one down because of the location. It's another $600 if I want them to remove it instead of burning it. Were hers near the house or structures that made them hard to get to?

The house is in town, so there are houses around it. One tree was dead, so a hazard during the storms. The other one the roots were going under the house and damaging the foundation. If I remember correctly they were both old oak trees.

I'm glad you are taking care of that.

We had a dead tree by the driveway. We were getting quotes to remove it. The storm came and the tree fell. On my car. On the hood of my car. ugh. It took 8 weeks to get the car fixed. I know... but - we did not have to worry about the tree anymore...lol.

Omg, I bet that was a nightmare! That's part of my worry. There have been some strong storms coming through and taking down branches. If it comes down...how much of it becomes...well, you knew it was a liability...eek!

Good morning and yay, we're at Tuesday!

I did come home yesterday and get my rowing in...then I moved on to a boxing class...then did some stretching....then a yoga class, then I finally was ready to relax. It got my week 6 of the ifit 6 weeks of fitness virtual badge (the stretching and yoga were their final two sessions of that).

QOTD - hot liquids like tea, ginger or peppermint. If I'm sick enough to sleep, I go back to bed in a dark room, under all the covers, with the heated mattress pad; if I'm not sick enough to sleep I just try to drink more hot liquids and power through. I have also found that (depending on what is making me feel yucky) a workout or a walk or some kind of movement helps. I think it gets the blood flowing and oxygen levels up and helps with headaches and things like that. Not so much with congestion, sadly.

Usual busy Tuesday today ahead but should go by quick, then need to return a few things at Kohls on my way to my personal trainer, that's about it.

Menu today

coffee plus half and half X2

skyr

left over French dip

either pita/veggies with tzatziki and 3 pepper dip or a naanwich with salami and cheese

Have a great day everyone!
