What's on your Sunday menu?

Boy, that's a great mental picture! I bet it's a kitchen staple by now, though. There's a chicken stock recipe I want to try for my matzo ball soup. I've never made stock because I have issues with handling raw meat and carcasses, so I'm working on that. Not up to breaking bones yet...drummies for the marrow, or some other bone?
I couldn't even peel shrimp until an unfortunate incident in Australia where I ordered a shrimp ****tail one day and they brought it to me fully in the shell with heads. I didn't want to waste food, so I kept drinking island beer until I could make it happen. There may be a video or two on my mother's phone of me making the shrimp fight each other. Beer. Ha.
It's been a journey of personal growth since then.

Good morning everyone! Leisurely start to the day for me, slept in until almost 6, had all the coffee, got in a hard but short rowing plus upper body intervals workout and then a restore pilates session and now I'm about to make breakfast and read for a bit. Later this afternoon I am meeting a friend for Linner and then we are seeing the big screen special re-release of the first Indiana Jones movie.
QOTD - Always lots to look forward to in a new week! Tomorrow is an in office day, Tuesday I have my personal trainer and my patreon chat; Wednesday just an eye exam and then Friday my bestie and I head up to the mountains for the weekend - it's a belated birthday + yay you survived all the disaster with your colonoscopy and 6 months worth of surgeries and hospitalizations. We will have a very good time.
menu today is
coffee plus HWC X 2
English muffin and scrambled egg
Linner will either be a French dip or their turkey dinner special
Have a great day!

I am a wee bit jealous of your trip to the mountains! I sure miss them! They revive my soul and I just adore them. BUT enjoy your girl trip, it sounds like it's well deserved for you both. What area are y'all going to visit? I would love to go up the the Estes Park area or even Red River or Taos at this point. My friend in Salida had snow near her at Monarch Pass just the other day!

Good morning! Does anything feel as good as a cool shower at the end of a hot day, washing off multiple layers of sunscreen, bug spray and sweat and into fresh sheets for the night? Based on last evening the answer, is no. There is nothing that feels better. We are dry camping at the Columbia River and it?s very warm. Water is precious in the rig. But I loved my military shower last night, got up early this morning and did a combo of fast walk, bench dips and modified pushups and ended with yoga and squats. I?m hoping to get back to it everyday so when I get home in three weeks, HIIT class doesn?t kill me. Then I had a quick rinse off shower (with Rog giving me some side eye for using more water) and I?m ready for the trip to Tillamook. Also dry camping there. Staying at a cheese farm and winery. Hoping that tomorrow I can hike out to one of the waterfalls. I?m going to temp Roger with the promise of ice cream from the Tillamook creamery if he?ll join me.
I?ve just finished a very rare treat for me. Half an English muffin with butter and local honey and one egg. I?m stuffed. Looks like English muffins are all rage with the group this morning.
lunch will be roasted chicken breast and either a piece of cheese or a tomato
Dinner may be at the cheese facility, so it?s to be determined.

Oh my gosh you're going to the creamery! Being a cheese fiend, I loved being able to try all their different varieties. They did have a restaurant where you could get grilled cheese and some other stuff on top of that ice cream. A lot of people came and went while we were there just for the restaurant and store. I liked the tour. Bonus points if you take a picture in the baby cheese bus! I had a tiny version of the cheese bus for a while.
And yay for English muffins! For me it's because sourdough may be easier to digest and I do like a good toasted bit.
