What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Oh man...when my kids were younger and I would help out at centers (it was called volunteering, but it was mandatory for parents to help at least once a week for 2 hours) I would get out of the two hours so frazzled. I always thought teachers should get paid a lot more for dealing with 25-30 kids day in and day out. I would be in and out for two hours and I needed a drink afterwards.

When I was younger, I just didn't have the patience with kids. In fact, I thought I never wanted to have any until around age 30. Even then I waited another 6 years to have them.

The day I started Menopause was the day I finally felt I accomplished something. I never wanted kids and Menopause was just the way to cement that it would not happen.

My sister has kids and her youngest is 18. I see so many kids...I just don't want kids. I'm in line waiting for this event. Weird thing to look forward to, huh? Might be headed that direction now.

Mornin' All!
it's going to be a scorcher today and the next few days (90F/32C) which is very uncommon this early in the season. We usually don't see those temps until July and August. Some friends of mine will be here from Charlotte (NC) this weekend, and it'll be hotter here than there! Anyway, I'll probably go to a water fitness class today for exercise since it'll be too hot to do anything else (except maybe some youtube video at home - which I'm burnt out on). Dinner with a friend tonight at an Indian place. She and I used to lead one of the pre-op classes at our bariatric clinic before COVID hit. I don't know if they're back to doing that one class or not - although if so, they probably have "grads" doing it now that are not nearly as far out from surgery as she and I are. You forget some things after the first couple of years...
I went to see a dermatologist yesterday because of some lesion on my neck that has been there at least two years, and which has twice become inflamed. She wasn't sure what it was, but luckily not cancer. She thinks it could be some scar tissue from the face/neck lift I had two years ago. I was looking at my visit summary after I got home. She said I was "WDWN" and "NAD". I had to look those up since I had no idea what she meant. "Well developed well nourished". My immediate interpretation - "this patient is too fat". But then I checked another site that went into more detail. It said "not obese but not skinny and frail". OK - I can deal with that. "NAD" means "no abnormalty detected" or "no apparent distress" - so at least that one wasn't open to interpretation.
QOTD: the only thing I remember thinking about career-wise when I was in high school was working for IBM. A lot of my friend's fathers worked for IBM, and they were all pretty well-to-do. We weren't poor, but my dad was an academic and a tight wad to boot, so we always lived in modest homes, drove utilitarian cars, didn't vacation in "exotic" places, etc. I was envious of my classmates who had and did all this fancy stuff. Now, of course, I'm more like my father - and have been for several years. I never knew what I wanted to do, really - I never had a "calling" like some people do (esp people who aspire to be doctors or lawyers). I changed majors a couple of times in college - and even after college, I changed careers - twice. I started out in IT, then when into (college level) counseling/student services, and ended up a librarian. Somewhere along the line I decided I wanted to be a history professor, but I dropped that idea when I realized I'd probably end up working and living in some intolerable location. Lived in too many of those while growing up, so no thanks. That was around the time I decided to go to library school - figured I'd have more choices in places to live, and I could stay in an academic environment if I wanted to. It turned out to be a good choice.
B: protein shake, coffee with half & half
MS: skyr with fruit compote
L: either a Jimmy Dean D'light breakfast sandwich (the kind with egg whites and turkey sausage), or this leftover dish I made last night (Christopher Kimball) - chicken and chickpeas cooked with tomatoes & bell peppers with curry spicing - it was great and not that caloric.
D: I'll be at the Indian place, so not sure. At least nothing outrageous.
have a great day, everyone!
QOTD: no, i was a singer and an actor none of which I am doing because I have bills to pay lol
I happened into this line of work for my FT job- and my reselling business i started out learning when I was VERY young. I used to buy barbie dolls at the flea market, walk back to my table a few isles over and increase the price 5 times and resell it.

Our trip was good last week, went to the beach for the week. took 2 of the 4 dogs (the older more behaved one and the blind one so wasn't sure what to expect). After they got over the shock of not having grass to potty in (sand instead) they did fine.
