Here's hoping the counselor will pull through for for your son this time! Super stressful.

I ran a university computer lab for several years. You should replace. Desktop life is 5-7 years (laptops 3-5 years). We replaced ours in the lab more often because they were very heavily used, but the estimates I just listed are for home computers. That thing has lived a good life. You'd be better off taking the money you would have used for a repair and put it toward a new one.

That's what I'm thinking. If my son was home and could do all the labor, it may be different.

I just replaced mine several months back. It was 7 or 8 years old, and was running Windows 7 still. I didn't care for Windows 10, so held off until 11 came out. It's faster than heck, and can run 24 cores at a time.

Hard drives I upgrade more often. Oddly enough they were the only things I saved to put in the new box.

Good luck on the Swift Tickets. That would be huge if you win.

I have to think the odds are very low, but she would be thrilled.

Isn't a 7-year-old computer obsolete these days? I am actually really bad about updating technology like computers and smart phones on a regular basis. If it still works, I continue to use it despite its age.

I normally use things beyond their "sell by" date as well, but on the other hand, once they start breaking down, I do replace them.

Good morning. We are in Kennebec, South Dakota. Arriving in the Mt. Rushmore area this afternoon I am very much looking forward to it. Yesterday was non eventful. I really did not feel like cooking dinner yesterday and so I searched out restaurants near by. The only one that didn't require lots of driving had dozens of reviews of how it was full of pro Trump, hate Biden "decorations " including a lot of vulgarities. I'm all for free speech. I'm also all for spending my money in environments that feel welcoming to me. So, I made cheeseburgers at home.

Accountability included a late night snack of low carb crackers because I stayed up late watching Queen Charlotte. Love the show, but if I had been in bed asleep at my normal time I wouldn't have been snacking.

QoTD: dude strolling down our very busy street, totally naked except for hiking boots about 2 in the afternoon. Followed moments later by a few cop cars with all their lights on. My video is like, weird. My neighbor two doors down was on his front porch when it happened and his reaction is hysterical, with the wait...WTF? Then he just points for the officers to keep them headed in the right direction.

Eats today...not feeling anything and I hate that. I like to plan a menu and look forward to it. So I'm thinking

B. Piece of pork belly and fried egg

L. Deli sliced turkey and cheese

D. Something with hamburger. Maybe taco inners. We ARE going out to inner tomorrow, so I'm going to try and make all my meals again today. Feels like doing so earns me bonus points I can spend tomorrow.

peace Everybody.
