That kitty has the right idea. The couch looks very inviting for a nap.

Good morning all and Happy Tuesday,

It's a wonderful day to be alive.

I put on my scrubs last night and did some surgery on my car remote. It broke in half and I decided that super glue would be the best option. I laid out all the necessary tools on the side tray. Super glue, Latex gloves, roll of paper towels to quickly wipe off excess glue, Paper so the glue doesn't get on the table, rubber bands to hold the remote together-check, Paper clip to manipulate glue. I forgot the scotch tape as a base on the remote so the glue doesn't get on the remote. My remote is now coated with super glue. This is despite wiping it down with a paper towel before rubber banding it to harden.

QOTD-here's the last photo

Me and super glue don't ever play well together.

Try cyanoacrylate accelerant. It's just a spray that cures the superglue instantly. Put the parts together, give it a spritz, and it's done. It's a lot less likely to make a mess.

Thank you for that suggestion. I was thinking of taking sandpaper out nail polish remover to the remote to get the excess glue off.

They sell a specialized remover. I'm not sure what it will do to the plastic of the remote though.

G'morning all!

QJB - you are the most prolific paper writer I know, aside from my daughter. I'm sure you'll do fine and August is just around the corner.

Work has been kinda dull, so my eyes are roving. When DD was home for Mother's Day, on Mon before she left she had made an appt at DMV to get her real ID. When we were there I saw they had ads all over that DMV is hiring. I mentioned I might look into it when DD & DH looked at me aghast. I said DMV needs somebody upbeat and smiley on their staff to boost the morale. So I finally looked up the openings yesterday...yeah, nope. Nothing in my county and the available jobs in Sacramento pay $20-$25 per hr. No wonder these people are so grumpy. In-n-out pays $24 per hr.

QOTD: a quote about camping: If by "camping" you mean my hotel room will face the woods, then yes I'm up for a camping trip! Next to a 50s style model. It cracked me up. And the next pic is my attempt of taking the pic of a hat on an influencer to Google search the hat. No luck there.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Costco eggwich (they are back and I'm so happy)
  • Jello, protein pudding, Fage yogurt
  • Caldosa (crab ceviche w/quest chips - DH has made so much ceviche that I think I'll have it for the rest of the week)
  • E: 5.75 miles wog

Happy taco Tue!

The RMV near our house just had a huge scandal. The director was taking massive bribes and passing people who failed or didn't even take the test! So if an opening comes up, FYI you can still make it profitable ;)

That is a cute meme. Boredom (and anxiety) can be a diet killer for sure. We celebrated DD's 17trh birthday on Sunday (the actual date is today; we usually take the day off from work and school, but she has mandatory state testing today :-( at school she can't miss). We went to PF Chángs (her choice). I should know better than to eat anything there since the dryness of the meat tends to cause me distress, then add cake and ice cream later was a very bad combination. I ended up in bed with stomach pain and RH. Next time my family wants to go there, I will either opt to stay home or have soup instead. That place is also overpriced for the quality of food as far as I am concerned, but when it is your birthday choice how can your momma say no! DD and I also went thrift shopping (again her choice), she found some used cassette tapes she can use in her truck, and I found a cute dress, shirts, and 2 pairs of legging for yoga all for $44!

Update on the mom health front: my mom had an MRI on Friday that showed her L1 compression fracture was worse. She had a FU appt with the neurosurgeon yesterday, he said that the compression fracture was now pressing down on the spine (explains the extreme pain that wasn't getting better-I guess it also explains why she didn't want to work to get better in our eyes) and she needs surgery. She is slated to go to surgery today late afternoon. She will be getting plates, pins and screws to stabilize the area and remove the areas of compression on her spine. They anticipate 5 days in the hospital with another couple of weeks in rehab. At least we have a plan moving forward. I am hoping this will help the extreme pain, but unfortunately, I don't think it will completely resolve her pain per the neurosurgeon. Make it manageable and prevent disability.

Thursday, DD and I will go to a ravioli making workshop at this local Italian restaurant/estate! In addition to making the ravs, they serve a 4-course meal (salad, apps, the pasta we make, and dessert). I am looking forward to it. I tried making raviolis before and it did not go well since I couldn't quite get the dough correct (I do have the true Italian family recipe for the innards though).

QOTD: Pictures of DD, DS, DH, and myself during the birthday cake rituals. I will post on Friday.

Accountability: good, I was a bit tired yesterday so ended up adding an extra cold brew with half n half. 60 min Inferno Hot Pilates plus weightlifting completed yesterday.

B: triple zero greek yogurt with berries, keto granola, cold brew with half and half

L: asian chicken salad with light sesame ginger dressing

D: Berry chicken salad with light poppy seed dressing

S: 6 pc sf chocolate, protein frosty

E: 60 min yoga
