You used to be able to get in a little elevator thing and go the top of the St. Louis arch. It was sort of rickety and claustrophobic but I did it a few times. My friend is thinking about making a trip like you did. She wanted me to ask if $300 a day is a reasonable amount to plan for gasoline and travel expenses in a motorhome. She wants to take a long vacation but have her dogs with her.

We did take the elevator! Yes, that a reasonable budget for sure. Tell her to check into Harvest Host and Passport America and be sure she has a Good Sam and KOA membership. Those will help keep costs down. Also for fuel, have the Love's app on her phone. Right now it saves ten cents a gallon. We have also stayed at highway service areas in certain states. No hook ups but it's free and fairly safe as you are surrounded by truckers all the time. Good luck to her!

I just had a good look at the map. We are definitely done in Texas for this trip. We scooted in way low in El Paso and stayed south until we started heading north to Garland and then on out.

I saw an ad for a new documentary about the Duggar Family and the movement they are in. One of the sound bites was a girl who was in that religion *****ad Handmaids Tale and thought, "This is supposed to be fiction? This is my life!" Terrifying.
