Good morning, good morning and welcome to the weekend! well, just a short workday away til the weekend.

Demon Copperfield won a pulitzer last week, Kingsolver is a great writer. Love the shirt! My shirt today says "I rescue books trapped in the bookstore. I'm not a hoarder, I'm a hero"

QOTD - I am reading so many books -- I have 7 on the go, I think

Sign here -- interesting so far, a debut author and it's about the people in hell that are charged with making deals for souls.

Shuggie Bain - bookclub book, award winner and I am just not into it. Fortunately besides not catching my attention, it's super long so there's that. I try to make a point of finishing all the bookclub books but since Anna Karenina, I've lost that discipline and will probably bail on this one too.

How to Find Zodiac - second book after Motor Spirit; the author's style was weird in Motor Spirit but his arguments compelling so I wanted to continue to read this one....but HE REFERS TO HIMSELF IN THE 3RD PERSON! I legit thought I was reading an introduction by someone else. Ugh, it's...distracting. However, the story is interesting so I'm continuing on.

George VI and Elizabeth: The Marriage that Saved the Monarchy....this is really good. Very good research, a lot of details from letters between Bertie and Liz (as well as everyone else around them....and this was a time when everyone wrote A LOT). I just made it to VJ Day and there's still about 10 hours of reading to go, but I'm guessing at least an hour of that will be end notes and bibliography.

The Bone Hacker - early release book in the Temperance Brennan series by Kathy Reichs. So far so good.

When I'm Dead - early release book in the Black Harbor series. This is interesting, it's very Tana French in that some of the characters from one book show up in other books but they are not direct sequels; it's a bit more like an anthology series. I didn't love the first book but the second was very good and this one is even better. Hello Transcriber was the first book and was also the authors first publication and you can really see her grow as a world builder.

The Book That Wouldn't Burn - first book in a new trilogy by Mark Lawrence, once of my favorite authors; I started it yesterday but it's 800 pages and I won't be able to fini**** before work travel next week (and he's one of my authors I buy on release date, in hardback) so I'll table it until next weekend. I love to have a huge book that I know that will be compelling to spend a day or weekend reading straight through.

TV wise, the only things I'm watching are the week's episodes of Top Chef, Yellowjackets and Brokenwood Mysteries.

Podcasts - meh, nothing really grabbing my attention outside of CWO and but I did stop their review of The Diplomat until I can watch it but that will be sometime in June at this point.

I found a new dealer for pita bread - angel bakery...they clearly are the devil; it was so good I had a piece with the greek cheese-pepper dip and a piece with my falafel for dinner yesterday and I'm still full. I will have to avoid them (after I finish the last piece today, of course). But at least I got in both my planned workouts yesterday before losing my mind and self control, lol.

Today's plan

coffee plus half and half X2

pita with dip and falafel

not sure about anything else but happy and sad that there's only one pita left.

My pictures today are some pretty roses and my favorite of the chalk drawings from the Vines and Chalk Lines even on Sunday. It was a flat drawing, until you stood at the right angle and took a picture.

Have a fantastic Friday all!
