I loved getting the books from scholastic. Although we didn't have a book fair, we had flyers that came out monthly to select books from. I always had a selection of books I wanted and my mom was really good about letting me purchase. They were reasonably priced at the time.

QJB-Yay! for the drama free body day and fun-time with mom.

Nothing really interesting to report yesterday. Update on my mom. She is still in the rehab facility for her L1 compression fracture. Last weekend she went kookoo, having delirium and hallucinations. We thought maybe too much narcotics (she was on a high dose fentanyl patch plus Norco). They took the patch off without any improvements. On Monday, they drew labs and sent a urine. She has an UTI and her sodium 126 (low sodium can cause confusion and lethargy, if low enough somnolence). After only one dose of antibiotics, she started to clear mentally. Her sodium was up to 130 (this was her docs goal for her). Yesterday, the facility issued her the Medicare letter of intent to discharge on Monday. Now she doesn't feel yet ready to go home because of the medical events of the past week so I have called in an appeal for chart review. We should know by Friday if she gets another week. PT/OT feel that she is ready for home. Mom is saying her back pain is a bit better and that maybe some of the back pain was from the UTI. Me and my sisters need to plan for discharge anticipating that she will be discharged on Monday despite the appeal, there are no guarantees the extension will be granted this time.

QOTD: Perfect metabolism sounds good but how about the ability to eat indiscriminately without weight gain or negative consequences! With a perfect metabolism I may still need to be mindful of what I eat.

we got flyers as well. Loved them. I think I ordered more books than anyone else in my class. I don't think we ever had a book fair.

G'morning all!

QJB - yippee for a pain free day. And very glad to hear Mother's Day celebration went well.

Aaah, book fairs. The best place to be as a kid. We didn't have book fairs like you guys had but anything book related made me happy. When my kids were in school I made sure we bought at least 5-7 books on the teacher's list for the class library. This way, I thought, the kids who couldn't afford the books at least could get to read them from teacher's class library.

QOTD: I wanna be able to eat all the sweets without gaining any weight.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Scrambled eggs w/shredded cheese
  • Protein pudding, chomp stick, quest chips
  • TJ kebabs with mixed veggies
  • E: cardio+weight

Happy jr Fri-yay!
