I have IBS-C, plus I take pain meds and muscle relaxants. Fiber constipates me. My gut motility is low.

I take miralax every day (generic from Costco or Sam's). I take 1 -3 cupfuls daily. No exceptions. Typically 2 cupfuls. Plus magnesium in evening. Today I need 3 miralax doses because things are not moving as they should. Plus I feel full. And today would also be more liquids than solids, avoiding fiber. Plus more magnesium. Yesterday I felt more full plus I had more gas in evening without BM- that's red flag for me. ..this morning I had a good BM but it doesn't feel "complete" BM. And I feel full... reading signals like that is important to me, almost critical if I don't want to end up on a floor screaming in pain. It only took me a few years to read my body... "only".. right...

Sometimes a 1-2 oz of Sole water plus 8 oz of warm water to chase it can stimulate my BM in the morning. Unfortunately often with cramps, so I only use it when I'm desperate and don't have miralax handy..(when I stayed overnight at work and realized I'm out of miralax).

It sounds like so much for you to maintain. And you've had years of working through what helps and what...doesn't.

I am definitely having the problem where I can't eat because I'm full. That's been the last couple of weeks and causes issues because food is necessary. That symptom is part of why she said I need to get my system moving. So yep, back on the generic Miralax for now. I've also got the enzymes and probiotics. It's a start.

Yes! I don't know that tolerate is the right word but it got things moving. That's high on my list of things to care about, today. And I did get the papas con chile recipe, so that's something good. I love potatoes way too much.

Good morning all. Yesterday was nice out. I set the hammock up for JB, and did a little yard work. Today might be too windy for her, but it's supposed to be warm.

They're f*ching up the potatoes. I hate to be the one to tell you all. I decided to use one 15 gallon planter to grow potatoes. Apparently they grow great, even in a 5 gallon bucket. So I started looking at the market for potatoes with "eyes." I always remember picking off the eyes before cooking taters. But no longer. Potatoes now are treated with ChloroIsopropyl-N PhenylCarbamate (CIPC), which stops eyes from spouting, and allows longer storage. That crap can't be good to eat, right? I mean, was it so bad, picking off a few eyes before cooking?

I sent away for a couple of varieties of seed potatoes. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Food is ham x 4.

QOTD: I'd like not to be eaten by zombies. I don't plan on giving up. I'd like to see how it ends.

Do you have a natural grocers or any of the granola-y stores? I'm sure the seed potatoes will work though but one of those stores probably has eye-potatoes.

We've got nothing natural close by. I know a good butcher shop, but not a single one for produce.

We are a bit spoiled here, Colorado is pretty crunchy so many local farmstand/organic options, small and chain. Lots of good vegan and vegetarian places too (with good potato and corn dishes:-)
