What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?

Happy Friday, Gang! I have a very busy day ahead. I have a class tomorrow, plus a few orders due, so lots of prep ahead but of course, I am still moving very slowly so its all taking too long to do everything. Grim's daughter is coming over for dinner tonight, which will be nice :)

I was all kinds of cranky yesterday. I think the painful knee, lack of freedom with movement, busy week with orders, annoying customers, and impending semester just caught up with me. I need to turn it around today.

Photos = cute bois.

My contribution to gardening this week was sitting on the outdoor couch and watching Grim. Look how horribly swollen my whole leg is, all the way down to my ankle :(

QOTD: Top sheet. Yes or no? This is probably the biggest ongoing disagreement in our relationship. I love a top sheet. It helps with temperature regulation, it's smooth and cool, and allows for layering. Go ahead Grim--tell us why we can't have it.

My accountability has been all kinds of MEH. I'm not eating anything off plan exactly, just too much of everything, especially considering that I am not moving much.

B: Protein coffee & egg bites

S: pirate booty

L: veggie burger

D: ?? not sure if we are going out or eating in.

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Ooh, I hope you're able to get to everything today. Tomorrow's class will go great! Your poor knee. Your yard is so colorful!

QOTD- Not sure what this means.

It's windy this morning. I was thinking about going to Lowe's and looking at plants but that might stop me for now. Walmart had $20 Japanese maples yesterday and I want at least two to plug landscaping holes.

Yesterday I felt behind on water intake and polished off 3/4 of a liter drink before bed. It seemed to have the same effect as colon prep, so won't do that again today.

I was able to get my orthodontist rescheduled to Monday afternoon and am waiting on a call back from the GI doctor. Success, I think!

Pics are of the gift basket I got in hospital and of the prescription meat tenderizer that sat on the counter almost the whole time. I was just amused there was such a thing.

Menu today is yogurt, cottage cheese, blueberries, seaweed, protein pudding, blueberry ratio and powerful drink. I'm obsessing over every sound and working on learning normal. Cheers!

sorry, QOTD was unclear. Do you use the fitted sheet and a top sheet under the blanket, or do you leave off the top sheet and only use the blanket-- like a monster? Lol.

Ah. Well. My answer is then needlessly complicated! In the winter I layer a nice, sherpa-lined blanket between the fitted sheet and top sheet because that sheet is FREEZING. So it's fitted sheet, warm blanket, top sheet, blanket, quilt/duvet, dog blanket/sheet barrier. One less blanket in the summer.

The gift basket looks perfect, and I had no idea about prescribed meat tenderizer.

It was! I was so grateful for socks and slippers. And absolutely broke out the coloring book.

Yep, I learned a whole lot of new things in the last week!

They prescribed meat tenderizer? I thought that was just MSG? Hope your felling better soon. Your menu definitely has improved in the protein. WTG.

Do you remember the little red and white canister of Accent? When I started cooking as a kid, I put it on everything, including my chef boy r Dee ravioli. I went looking for it as an adult found it was no longer avaialable because it was just msg.

I think a lot of the meat tenderizers these days are mostly bromelain, an enzyme that breaks down meat tissues and thus tenderizes the meat. The most common enzyme used to be papain.

Back in the 80s, quack doctors told patients they could get rid of their tumors with a magic injection. They injected papain into the tumor. It did break many tumors up, which thrilled the patients. But it caused the cancer cells to spread throughout the body.

The world often makes me furious.
