Thank you for sharing! I'm glad it went away for you but I bet that was a frustrating time. I was absolutely dumping cajun seasoning on things yesterday. And salt. I barely even had salt in my house except to add to recipes and now I need extra. Phew.

I developed very severe GERD after my initial lap-band surgery, to the point that I was regularly waking up and choking on acid in my sleep. Now my GERD is still very present but it is "silent" -- as in, I do not get heartburn or other obvious symptoms to tell me it's happening. But one thing that always gives it away is that food tastes "wrong".

I wouldn't be surprised if that's a big factor in what you are experiencing right now. If you are leaning towards wanting sweet, I'd just run with it and stick to protein shakes to avoid any irritation from real food until you are more healed.

I remember you sharing about the GERD. Thank you for the reminder. This does sound like it could be a possibility. I'm back on my PPI but do also have the bile reflux. Given what happened, maybe it upset the balance or something.

Wrong is definitely the word for it, and so is silent right now. So yours still comes and goes?

Yep. I think it will always be a part of my world, even with a daily PPI. When I'm irrationally hungry and food starts to taste wrong is when I usually realize it's back with a vengeance.

When I was going through issues initially, I had black hairy tongue (yes actual diagnoses) it is when you eat a diet of soft foods and you papilla grow larger on your tongue. When you eat the food gets stuck in those bumps and grooves. They told me to eat more ruffage. I choose to scrape my tongue every day. I found scrappers on Ebay that I love. Just a plastic strip. This might be a resolve for you.

That's a new medical thing I hadn't heard of, thanks! I do use a scraper but all the routines were thrown off thanks to the hospital. I have some prescription mouthwash from my extractions that should also be pretty hard-core. Will try that, too!

Good morning and happy jr friday!

Good plan to have a bit of a break while you finish off on school; I bet you can move a lot of DIY cookie kits while schools out but you can do those at your own pace, I would think!

I had a very productive day off yesterday, in spite of it being very gloomy and we were under a tornado watch for the whole day. I cleaned the trash bins, visited and terrified the plants at the nursery and brought a lovely rosebush home, planted it, took pictures of my lovely lilac tree that was just starting to have the flowers bud out, literally smelled the flowers, had a new patio chair delivered that I had to unbox all the pieces, carry them to the deck and rebox them so I can put it together this weekend, and then, just when I was about to relax the watch turned into a warning so I spent some time tornado spotting, I was able to see some fast moving circular clouds but didn't see any funnels drop...then the hail started. First time I've shoved snow...they legit busted out some snowplows to clear the roads (our snowplows don't get put away until June because it's not unusual for plowable snow well into may). It's not photo friday but I've attached a few pix below...including a before and after of my lilacs...the rose bush was actually king of protected, it's near baby blue spruce so didn't take as much of a beating.

Today is just workout, work and a pedicure after work. I did cross over my 250 for the year so right on track but I am behind on my monthly rowing goal but that's why I built a cushion.

I showed my mom the hail photos and she asked if you lived in Colorado! LOL. She was camping once near monarch pass and had this happen.
