Good morning QJB and menuers,

Wow! I bet that feels both long and short for the time you have left for classes! How exciting. Will you attend your graduation? I missed my last one thanks to covid.

QOTD- Think I take after my mother more, though probably biased. I have her eyes and personality traits, my father's blond (started that way) hair and fair skin, and it seems like half their medical issues. We're a small family.

Made it to town yesterday. I took lots of breaks out and about since it was 90 and I was wearing long sleeves and pants. I also have crud in my lungs to work through, so slow but moving is fine with me.

Didn't do the cooking I'd hoped but I'm prepped to try for it today. My counters had been getting cluttered and I need a clean house to get motivated in the kitchen.

Today I may try a town run since I'm overdue on some other things.

Our leave adjuster keeps calling to ask if I really returned to work on May 3rd. Yeah, unfortunately I suffered through trying to do email catch up that day. Now I know...don't! I need to make another attempt to reschedule the orthodontist I missed from Monday and the colonoscopy today. Feeling productive and we'll see how that pans out once I'm out of bed.

Have to ask you all...since this event started in March, food has been tasting progressively worse. I've always been a body by savory but everything just tastes bad unless it's seasoned by food science. It's gotten worse since last week. For those farther out who have gone through some surgeries and events, is this common?

Today's menu includes protein pudding, more Greek yogurt, I miiight try a ratio yogurt since I have tons, probably soup if I get it cooked, maybe homemade chicken and dumplings. Got 60g of protein yesterday and took 75% of my supplements. On my way!

Cheers.

So sorry for everything you've been going through. Sounds like positive signs though!

I can't think of someone who went from savory to sweet preference but plenty of people have gone from sweet to savory so I don't see why it couldn't happen. You're also on a pretty bland diet and those aren't known for taste of any kind.

I don't discriminate. Savory and sweet!

Except, that's really not a victory.

Fair! For me everything just tastes wrong. I've eaten gallons of Greek yogurt but now it tastes sour. I taste the chemicals or the sugar but not the flavor that used to be in foods. Maybe the sugar stuff works since most sugary food is...sugar! I've been trying literal bites of things and can't fini**** for the ick factor. Interesting change, for sure!

After my first surgery - maybe 6 month out? I could barely taste anything. I was heavily salting/seasoning everything and even even putting 5 Splendas in one cup of coffee. Sounds insane, but it eventually went away. No clue why that happened or how long it lasted.

Did you lose your sense of smell? That happens often, and I think smell and taste are paired more closely than we think.

Probably, makes sense. Now I think I had covid, before covid was cool.
