Now I've read a second review, wildly different from the first, and it looks like a scary movie. Is it scary?

not at all. It's definitely a fantasy type of film, but not scary.

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Yay for a bit of progress, it sounds like. I don't know that cookies on crutches will become a thing. Sounds like Grim truly is a prince. I hope today goes okay.

QOTD- Generically, the ones I have in print are of the growth and self-help variety. Digitally, it's probably split between sci-fi/fantasy and a whole buncha random that makes perfect sense in my head.

I'm working my way up to needing to go out today. I have three prescriptions that came up for refill that need to be picked up before they're canceled. If possible, I need to make a post office run to send my mom's card and Pandora for late mother's day. I already warned her. Fortunately, I'd already ordered her Harry and David brunch and pears before the hospital visit.

If I can pick up a few groceries, I will. My bigger concern is taking the trash when I leave. Dunno about you all but it seems summer kicked in while I was out, and the trash is...ripe. I, of course, have lifting restrictions so just need to get it gone.

Today, I need to get back on track with my prescriptions and supplements. On top of being a huge scaredy cat yesterday with food, I didn't take any of them. So far today, I took my PPI and morning gabapentin. Have about 10 more morning pills to get down. No food till then, I think.

I have had some cramps and pain in my lower intestines but everything has stayed down. So far, so good. I've dropped six pounds of the fluid weight and hope to have a basic menu nailed down very soon.

Speaking of which, energy depending, I dug up a recipe for a chicken and corn egg drop soup to try today. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes and has a good amount of protein. I chucked a couple of chicken breasts in the crock pot yesterday. Will add some sauce and veg to one and turn part of the other into this.

My sleep schedule is shot after five days of hospital schedule, which just means no sleep.

Planned menu - Plain Greek yogurt, cottage cheese if I can pick some up, chicken and corn egg drop soup, probably a small amount of grape nuts microwaved with milk. Everything still tastes terrible unless it's over-seasoned. I added more salt to my soup yesterday than I normally eat in a couple days.

Cheers, everyone!

Thanks, Chrissy! Pretty productive day today, all things considered. I'm going to take it a bit slow and try to make sure I'm in the best shape possible to go back. My team asked why I was back last week, anyway. Can't stay out if doctors don't agree!

Seriously consider ordering digestive enzymes capsules and good Probiotics.

During almost any abdominal surgery they often give us antibiotics in an IV and they can wipe out a lot of good bacteria in the gut. When I do any antibiotics treatment- even natural supplements (allacin, oregano oil, neem, berrberine complex , etc.) I heavily supplement after with Probiotics and the simple yeast (i.e Florastor or like that) . Otherwise I can't digest anything properly and deal with gut cramps, headaches from indigestion and much much worse GERD.

Drinking 4 oz of warm water with 1 tbs of ACV (organic with mother), followed by 4 oz (or more) of just warm water also helps a lot. Often that can be taken just before food, or soon after food.

Some people use a shot of 1 oz ACV, followed by warm water - but that really hurts my insides. I need it diluted. Followed with warm water to rinse mouth and esophagus (they are sensitive).

Thanks for the reminder. I was puttering around in the kitchen today and found my ACV by chance. I do have the cramps in my lower gut when I eat anything right now. I'm sure extra probiotics and enzymes can't hurt.

I"m not sure what your lifting restrictions are; I think mine post laprascopy were 10lbs? I remember joking I couldn't even lift my purse at that weight but regardless of what they are -- if you are going to have them for very long, get a smaller trash can -- it will be a pain to empty it more frequently but will help with the weight. My sister always had a supersized trash can but when she had her gallbladder out I got her a smaller one and that was a huge help. Sometimes it's little changes that help!
