Or maybe not a few weeks away, lol, the landscaper that switched my lawn to xeriscape is coming back on Friday to install all my native xeriscape plants. Yay!

When I was growing up we had May Day on May 1 and there was a Maypole at school. We wore pretty dresses and danced around the pole to create the pattern with the ribbons. I always thought that the New Year should be celebrated on May 1 when the world is waking up to warm weather.

G'morning all!

Jen, I was that Penguin all Sat!

Yay for a new month starting on Mon, in my head it makes everything squared away. Like when you want to start a diet on the first of the month and it's a Mon. It's the sign from universe that you gotta do it.

I had a lovely weekend. Sat was mostly doing my stuff, puttering around the house and starting a new crochet project (the yarn finally arrived). Sun I met up with friends for coffee and retail therapy. There are 5 of us and our sons have been friends since kindergarten. In college the 5 boys have taken completely different paths: from aerospace engineering to art school and everything in between. What is mind boggling is that these boys act the same way; rarely answer texts, never get on the phone and give us grief the same exact way. Our coffee session had some group tears involved but it was good letting it all out and have the support of each other.

PSA:this will never replace Teenie's cheesecake, but if you are ever in the mood for cheesecake and you want it high protein and almost zero guilt try this. I made it on Sat and ate through the weekend. It's like a personalized size cheesecake.

QOTD: my daughter's bday is on May 29, so May is always a special month for me. I also look forward to more hikes with warmer weather and just being out and about. Having said that, we are having the typical May/June glume weather here. As soon as the valley gets hot, we get the fog.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee + Barebells bar
  • HP cheesecake
  • Epic chicken, jerky
  • Hb eggs
  • E: cardio + weight (Sun is usually my rest day but Sat I got lazy and didn't do anything so I worked out on Sun)

Happy May 1st!

Not to toot my own horn, but I love making these animals. Here is a sample. Usually I make them for little members of the family.
