Good Morning! Well, I guess my body just wanted to prove Jim wrong. Yesterday he said that sleeping until 3am was not "champion sleep." Well, I am here to say that it beats the hell out of 12:45am!

Yesterday was a decent day. I turned in my last papers of the semester, and I already got graded (4.0 for the course!) and I have 2 weeks off until next semester starts :) I also got a lot of baking and lots of other little things done. Plus... exciting news! My kitty brothers have a new sister, compliments of Sheila! She surprised me with this STUNNING handmade kitty and I am obsessed with how incredible it is. Isn't she so talented?? Amazing. I am in awe.

The boys each took turns to give her a welcome kiss.

QOTD: Do you have a tv show from your youth that you loved but haven't seen since you were a kid? Does anyone else remember Small Wonder, about a dad who invents a very realistic robot child and tries to pass her off as part of the family? I knew it was incredibly stupid even at the time, but I loved it nonetheless! Grim found it for me last night and we watched the pilot. Soooo stupid but it brought back awesome memories.

FYI, I am definitely not going to be able to start the thread on Monday--we are taking off at 3am to go to CookieCon! But I promise to check in the rest of the week with many many glorious pictures of cookies and baseball :) I hope we'll have time to meet up with White Dove who is a few hours away, but I am not exactly sure how the schedule is going to line up until we get there.

Sheila, I am just flabbergasted. Your work is amazing. The level of detail is just phenomenal. I'm speechless.

Thank you kind sir!
I think for me crochet is what woodworking is to you. When I'm stressed crochet takes my mind off and if I am listening to a good book while crocheting then I'm in my happiest place. AND, it keeps my hands busy so no snacking. Win win!

I need to keep my hands busy. It's a different kind of focus for my mind, too, and I find it necessary.

Good morning and happy Friday! Yay for the final day and heading into the weekend! I love the stuffed cat and your kitties kissing their new sister! I have one of Sheila's creations and I love it and so does everyone that visits!

We have a big go live on a systems conversion in one of our facilities so I'll be on call all weekend with lots of check in meetings so it won't be too relaxing but it's still the weekend! I do have a massage tonight so that will be nice. Outside of that, I don't have a lot planned for the weekend given the potential for lots of work; I do have a one hour row that I want to do this weekend, plus catching up on the new Yellowjackets, and some reading and house stuff, probably laundry too. I ended up getting two books that are releasing later this year for pre-reading yesterday -- the new Jo Nesbo/Harry Hole books and the new Kathy Reichs/Tempe Brennan book so I will be bumping them to the top of my list. I started the Nesbo book last night.

QOTD - I liked the cheesiness of Land of the Lost....and it was so cheesy and bad then, I bet it is just the same now, lol. I do remember Small Wonder.

Great pictures, and I love the hair. And it's going to give JB an excuse to say "purple" in the accent of one of her favorite GBBO contestants.

Rudy speaks with a British accent. Hence the English Bulldog in him. Think James Corden when you see him.
