I also woke up early. 4am not 3! I don't like to lie in bed reading because it makes me lazy for the day. I like to get out of bed to get things done early. I have a couple of meetings today and the usual paperwork. Not a whole lot to report.

On the mom front, she is still at the rehab facility for her L1 compression fracture (more crushed then compressed). She still is having a bit of pain and not progressing in her PT/OT. The doctor called us yesterday with concerns that she plateaued in her therapies, which may cause the insurance to determine she no longer needs to be there. I think my mom has some depression (we started an antidepressant on Monday) related to the situation. she has also stated that she is scared of falling again. I did have a discussion with her earlier in the week before the conversation with the doctor that she needs to be more intentional about getting all the benefits of the therapy while she is there. She always promises she will work towards the goals we set but then doesn't fall through. I will need to have another conversation with her today. Maybe she doesnt want to live independently anymore.

QOTD: I use my cell phone as my alarm clock so it is at my bedside. I try not to read in the middle of the night. I usually will turn on my audible book if I wake up in the middle of the night with a busy mind, it helps me fall asleep.

Accountability: excellent

Different day same meals :-)

Aging parents are the worst. I wish we could stick them in a bubble to prevent the bumps and bruises. Sorry you are going through this.

I'm sorry about your mom. She sounds super independent but maybe when down? My stepfather's mom keeps falling and refusing to complete the work needed to heal and recover. She keeps getting worse since she doesn't come back all the way. It's a scary thing.

My grandma was the way your mom is. When she had her knee replacement she didn't do what she needed to do and it didn't go well for her. I hope your talk goes well and she will try a little harder for her own sake. AND hopefully the antidepressant will perk her up a bit.

Good morning all and Happy Fri-yay Junior,

This week is trudging along to the finish line.

I'm looking forward to tonight's celebration dinner at Wildfire and this weekend. I'm Homer Simpson, constantly mentally drooling at the thought of a fatty prime rib, au jus, horseradish cream, and a side of butter with a little mashed mixed in.

QOTD- I'm guilty of taking my phone to bed and tucking it in like a baby under my pillow. Seriously, I put it under my pillow like some people keep a bible or gun. I don't think I look at it besides when I wake up to receive calls or texts throughout the night. I've been waking up to my Dad's medical urgent communications for the last couple months. I am 'always available' for club members with emergencies or need immediate help.

B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt, Tangerine.

L: Bagel & Lox.

D: Rotisserie Chicken, tomatillo salsa, cilantro, onions, side of cherry tomatoes.

Lincolnshire. I find myself in the north burbs today. Every location that I've visited has produced a good meal. Safe travels, Jim.
