Good morning everyone! I hope your weekend is going well. I gave myself a very indulgent day yesterday, including sleeping until 8 am, which as you know is like sleeping til noon for me. I also took a 2nd rest day in a row. I think I really needed a general break and since it snowed friday night about 2 inches and never got above freezing all day yesterday, it was perfect for it.

I finished a really good book about missing people along the Pacific Coast Trail; apparently, there aren't as many nefarious people around on that trail as there seem to be on the Appalachian trail but it's still quite interesting. I have read several books about people going missing in national and state parks and how difficult it is to investigate when it happens. Much like with the reservations, the rules/conflicts/confusion around jurisdiction put everyone at risk. I definitely need to be better about telling people when/where I'm going when I hike alone (not that my hiking is intense or dangerous but accidents and people happen).

Today I have gotten in a 5k row, cleaned the bathroom and loaded the dishwasher. I'm going to experiment today with taking my Korean fire chicken sauce and putting it on meatballs in the slow cooker, if it works they will be great for lunch at the office tomorrow. I need to run some amazon returns to kohls on my way to get my hair done and before I leave I will make sure everything (except lunch) is ready to go for the office tomorrow so I can relax when I get home. I have the final 3 episodes of Picard for the afternoon evening entertainment.

QOTD - I can't really think of anything other than how surprised people are when they see my hair, nose piercing and tattoos, somehow it doesn't really go with their idea of my role in corporate America, lol.

Menu today

coffee plus half and half X3

biscuit with sausage

built bar

meatballs

Have a fantastic Sunday everyone!

What is the name of the book? I always wondered about those long solo hiking trips and safety. I don't mind hiking busier trails alone, but always prefer a buddy. We only have little old dogs. I'd love a big dog to take. Next time around hopefully.

It's called Trail of the Lost by Andrea Lankford. I have a pre release digital copy but it will be out in August.

Good afternoon gang. Julia is off teaching her class, and I'm spending the quiet time with TV. I've got leftover pizza for lunch, then right back to ham.

Good afternoon. Sunday.

I'm sorry you are dealing with more stuff. I had to learn to sleep on my back, but when I slept on my side, I sometimes wake up with pain. Sleeping crooked- I pulled something in my right shoulder and I'm dealing with that. Putting lotions, creams, getting acupuncture... and now I put a K-tape to help to support the shoulder ligaments. There are things that are hard for me to do. Like pulling pillows out of pillowcases. Keith needs to do that. That motion aggravates that shoulder. There was a few weeks that I couldn't use that arm for lifting anything more that 3 lbs.

Today I also did very little. Finished washing the rest of the blankets, and sheets and stuff... washing machine works all the time. Days like that we really appreciate the "instant ho****er" heater we installed once our kicked the dust - or it was about to kick the distribution (20 years old). The heater doesn't allow for 2 people to take showers at the same time, but there is no waiting time in between. The problem is turning on and off water supply to a second output. It changes volume and pressure and that affects temperature of both showers.

QOTD: not sure... but because I have an accent and I'm a woman, a lot of people who don't know me, are surprised I'm in charge in the business. And have 2 MSofS degrees in engineering.

To I have my PM doc appointment tomorrow morning. Not sure if I get SI joints injections or trigger point injections. Plus I need a new script for steroids I'm on.

Then work work work.

Food:

Liquids plus more liquids

LL: egg frittata

D: chicken in sauce, sautéed spinach, zucchini...

LNS: cheese + apple or strawberries...

BTW: when our mattress got older - I would wake up with numbed right arm. I got s 2" mattress topper and it really made a huge difference.

When I did information security auditing work, a lot of it was over the phone. I worked with various locations and told them exactly what they needed to do to be audit compliant. Once I was visiting an office in person in Texas and one of the executives looked at me and said, "On the phone, you sound taller".

Ha ha! I used to do tech support over the phone for public and school libraries in our state that didn't have a tech person on staff. It was so weird seeing people I talked to frequently over the phone at conferences, because they almost NEVER looked like I'd pictured them. It was weird talking to them in person because they SOUNDED like so-and-so, but they didn't LOOK LIKE him or her! (or at least the him or her I'd conjured up in my mind!)
