I don't haul as many big things as I did just a couple of years ago. But I still need to often enough that I really can't get rid of it.

Oh for sure! I used to have a coworker who traded in her car every time she went in for an oil change. I don't get the obsession with the newest, shiniest, fastest gadget. But hey, not like she had to worry about maintenance or tires.

my last two cars were 17 years old and had well over 200K miles on them. Got rid of the first one only because it was vandalized and it would have cost more to replace what needed to be replaced (like...all the windows) than the blue book value of the car. Second one - needed over $600 worth of repairs. Book value may have been more than that, but it didn't make sense to me to plow $600 into a 17-year-old car.

DD has a 1989 F150 and a 1992 Lincoln Town Car, neither of which she would trade for the world. Both were given to us by her grandparents. The truck has been a money suck since we had to replace the engine, it needed paint, etc.

I loved my Santa Fe 2013, until I found out the 2019 came with heated and cooled seats. Cooled seat !!! in SC - and with me being comfortable in 66-69F temperatures, no brainer. We sold one Santa Fe with much higher mileage, and I got mine "cooled seats" in 2018. The only thing I don't like - it doesn't have CD player. Only Bluetooth or USB type connection. I have to convert anything I want to listen to to MP3

I have heated seats, but never use them. Julia does.

But cooling seats? I would love cooling seats. My AC died several years ago. 2 summers ago neither window worked. It got hot in summer. I had a fan plugged into one of the cigarette lighters. The window is fixed, but I'd rather spend the AC repair money on other things. I just don't drive it that far, that often.

The rowing machine I just got costs about the same as new AC for the car. The AC would add little to my life. The rower should add a lot more.
