Ah, that makes me feel like maybe it's not all in my head, then!

I'm just calling the drug that since the folks on the DS board said that's what is generally given right after surgery to protect it. I'll ask, but my guess is that now it will be used just to deal with the bile issue, which may or may not be a result of no longer having the gallbladder. Ursodiol, I think is the spelling. Good times.

BTW: internal hernia is a real possibility. I had similar symptoms when I had hernias, or flipped intestines. Or it could be a scar tissue -scar band that is slowly strangulating your intestines. Unfortunately Ct scan often can miss that. So even if you get that - you may have "normal" results.

Often only exploratory laparoscopic surgery can determine what is going on.
The liquids- soft foods going through but more solid food gets stuck - can be an indication of that. I had that 3 times. And none of the testing showed anything. The third time I begged the doc to cut me open because It was hard to live like that. The 3rd time - I have "flipped on its own" part of small intestines so that created narrowing in 2 points. Food would get there, then there needed to be pressure to move that through. Once he did the surgery and fixed that - I was fine. (except when dealing with severe constipation and trapped gas due to IBS-C.

Now this sounds terrible, and honestly what I'm worried about. Once I start drinking, I get a lot of grumbling from my system that then lasts a couple of hours or longer. It's much more painful with solid food, which is why I stopped it. And anything that produces gas is equally terrible right now. My guess is that an EGD, which is what they did for me, wouldn't go far enough to see or recognize anything like what you had.

I'm sorry for what you went through, and that it took exploratory surgery for them to find it.

Hellooo all! QJB, you and Grim are seriously the cutest. And I can vouch for that since I?ve spent time in person with you both and I just think you?re so fun and adorable as a couple. It cracks me up because you?re the size of Grim?s Diet Coke insulated jug he takes everywhere he goes LOL.

What a great question. Hmmm. I have never eaten a tomato. Yep. I HATE them. They have skin and flesh and juice and seeds BLECH. I car eat them pulverized (as in, zero chunks) in salsa or thin tomato sauce or even tomato soup (no chunks!) but nope not sliced or chopped or {shudder} whole.

I know this may provoke a riot on this board but hey, at least I have Grim on my side, since he?s allergic to vegetables.

I took the day off - it?s the kids spring break. We meant to spend the day downtown but we are expecting rain so instead, we have a noon appointment at SkyZone. I?m gonna leave them there (shhh, probably illegal) and go get a pedi. It?s a win for all. (They?re 17 and 13, lest anyone wants to call CPS on me!)

Eats today - well, this week since we have them all week, I tried the tik tok Chipotle trend someone told me about! You order catering for the minimum of 10 people. You get two bases, one protein, two salsas, two toppings. All for $125. You guys this is like 15 meals (we may run out of rice so I?ll make more). 15 meals that are delicious! The kids are ecstatic. So am I - no cooking for days!

B: leftover impossible meat with TJs stir fry veggies in sriracha

L: burrito bowl!

D: hmm not sure. Could be another bowl!

Have a fab day, friends!

In the old days a 13 year old would run away to sea and never see their home again. I think it is fine to leave them for a few hours.

Don't make fun of the jug.

I hate tomatoes! And tomato sauce, and anything related. When I have pizza, it's just lots of cheese with crumbled up hamburger on top. Mmmmm.

Do you like a white sauce (creamy alfredo or garlic) on your pizza?
