I used to call that my irritated pouch and would go to total liquid stage for a few days until it healed. It is actually pretty common the first year or so, then it stops happening.

Good to know! If it's just the sleeve, it's passing the problems on down the line. I've had a couple of reactions to things so far but nothing this long-lasting or intense. Thank you for sharing!

You do seem to have dropped 15 pounds really fast. I hope that they can figure this out.

Yes, way too fast and very unintended. I've been ensuring protein levels and calories close to what I was getting, so it's definitely unexplained. This is not the way, which is why it's not being celebrated. I was ready for maintenance!

I had a RNY for WLS. One potential complication after weight loss is an internal hernia. I had a sliding internal hernia so my pain would come and go but boy was it intense when it happened. I am not sure if that is a potential complication of the SADI. Have they sent you for a CT scan yet? Might be the next step. Are you on a antiacid medication such as Pepcid, Zantac, Omeprazole or similar? I would definitely fu with the surgeon's office and demand more testing. I am sorry you didnt get more definitive answers from the EGD but the news was good overall.

That sounds horrible, I'm sorry. I've seen it in your signature line that it happened. Glad it was corrected.

No CT scan. That was the virtual doctor who said my WLS clinic needs to listen to me with symptoms escalating. The clinic opted for the EGD instead. I really thought it would identify a stricture or blockage based on how hard it is to eat and drink and the pain that comes with it. Feels like I'm back at day 1 restriction with food poisoning on top. Not sure the EGD went far enough in to check what might be needed.

I've called them once already this morning, and I'm about to call back. Thank you for the feedback!

I vaguely remember my bariatric surgeon telling our pre-op class that there are a couple of complications that only a CT scan will catch, so to ask them about it if we were having some problem and the tests were all coming back normal...

Good to know! Just got off the phone with my clinic and they were super dismissive again, so think I'll go the route of my Primary Care and see if she can help.

Also, yes. I'm on Omeprazole 40 and have been since surgery. He prescribed it for a whole year, so I'm almost 9 months in on it.

didn't have anything like that... sounds pretty concerning - I hope you get it figured out and feel better asap.

I don't understand the gallbladder protective drug if you don't have a gallbladder?
