You know, those food items packed with all the beneficial vitamins and minerals, often fondly referred to as "rabbit food". My bread and butter pre-WLS, unfortunately. Not even a potato?

Just so you know - meat and other animal products has the most bioavailable minerals and vitamins. Seriously. Maybe except C. But that's why carnivore animals first go for the guts. The organs and the guts are priceless for them.

I have a jar right here that says it has all the vitamins I need.

Holidays I refer to as mashed-potato and corn holidays! It's the only days I have those, so it's a treat. If we go out I'll have a few fries with a meal, but they still fill me up faster than any other kind of a food.

That's it. No condiments either. Yuck. Blech.

she's one of my FB friends, but she rarely posts (or at least, I don't see them - I don't spend nearly as much time on FB as i used to, so I'm sure I miss lots of posts) (just checked - she hasn't posted since December. I"ll send her a message. Last time I did, she said she was super busy at work and hadn't been on social media in awhile - although she did come back here for a couple of days and posted before disappearing again. I'll message her to see what's up and let you know)

(btw - I'm referring to Hillary - this particular thread has gotten so long that by the time people get to this one, they probably forget who Jim was asking about!)

Good morning all and Happy Tuesday,

I didn't make time to post yesterday morning and the day got away from me. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a great weekend and Monday to start the week. The St. Pat's event was a big success and it was a great time. I went to the symphony last night and always enjoy a proper night out in the Downtown Loop.

QOTD: Goals. I love goals; the journey, the finish line and the gratification. I am constantly working on many goals. Just for today, I'm working towards sleeping better, physical un-fitness, next steps to get back into the workforce (resume revision and information vacuum,) and, the biggest, hip replacement & less help with ADLs. Today may be a hugungous day for realizing the next step for my right leg. I have an appt with the Orthopedic surgeon this morning. I haven't seen him in a while and he had told me not to come bac****il I lost the rest of the weight. At that point, there was nothing else he could do besides recommend another surgeon who specializes in surgeries with more risk.

Eating has been on point. At the St. Pat's Dinner, I went with corned beef, broiled Greek chicken leg, a small redskin potato and a water. I decided beforehand that I was doing dessert. I ended up limiting myself to a couple bites of cake including frosting. I just grabbed the two bites off a friend's plate. It was enough to satisfy my sweet tooth and I wasn't even tempted to eat a piece. At Hugo's Frog Bar last night, I stayed away from an old favorite in the Calamari Fritte. They used to do a bang up version and I instantly thought of it when my date wanted to go to Hugo's.

B: Scrambled eggs w turkey bacon, onions, cilantro, avocado, salsa Verde.

L: Sashimi and a couple pieces of a spicy tuna maki.

D: Corned beef, corned beef, corned beef. Ne have a rye bread substitute? I miss a warm corned beef sandwich on rye with spicy brown. It would be sacrilegious if I used lettuce as the bread, like I normally do.

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

Good luck at the surgeon today; I hope you get the next steps sorted out!

No good rye substitute here, I would just have the bread, enjoy it and then not get it again for a long time.

Penn Deli down in the Strip uses Potato Latkes as a sub for bread when they make their Rubens. So good but not a good choice for WLS patients. Just reminiscing about the good Ol days.
