What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Good morning and yay for Tuesday! Glad you were able to get everything sorted with the corporate class!

Busy day yesterday but I got everything I needed to done, I crossed my 150th rowing mile for the year so ahead of schedule for my 600 in 2023:-). My personal trainer session was HARD...she had me do the entire hour on the reformer but also onto of a foam roller (aligned on my spine) so it really challenged all those little ab muscles you don't know you have until they get worked. I am feeling it today...but also thinking I might incorporate that into a bit of my home workouts!

Today, I have rowing and elliptical, only one on ones at work and it should be a very good day. A friend is coming into town to head up to skiing and I'm hoping to pop over to her MILs and see her for a few minutes but a lot will depend on when they get in and what the MIL has planned. It will be good if we meet up, fine if we don't.

QOTD -- nope, I am not. I am the one people have to tell to go see a doctor (although I have gotten better about that) and then I just get the plan of attack and move forward so I don't even really worry then. I do not use Dr. Google because everything from a hangnail to a headache is cancer and you are dying later that day.

menu today is

coffee plus half and half X 2

PB English muffin

skyr

mini pepperoni calzone from whole foods

Have a great day everyone!

It's a piece of equipment for pilates -- you use body weight and resistance; when you do mat pilates you still use body weight and some resistance from gravity, both are good but I love reformer pilates.

That helps, but I honestly couldn't give a decent definition of what pilates are. I won't ever need to know. Though I should do yoga some day. I'd like to be more flexible.

I really should get back into yoga. I used to do it at least a couple of times a week, but then I went on a yoga retreat to India a couple of years ago and did it five hours a day. I was burnt out on it by the time I got home, and haven't done it since. I can tell i'm a lot less flexible since giving it up, though. Maybe I should try to get back into it - maybe start with Yin or Restorative and work up from there...

I love my yoga. My body feels so much better now that I do yoga. Many people think it is just stretching but it is also strengthening, increases endurance, and can be hard. I do it in a hot room (temp 100-105 degrees), which warms up the muscles, helps with increasing flexibility, burns more calories, increase work effort. Not everyone likes the hot room experience, so there is also normal room temperature yoga and just warm yoga (I think the temp is about 85).

The Pilates I have done is more Pilates concepts of control and breathing since it is mat based. It is very similar to HIIT and is called Inferno with room temperature at around 99 degrees. I would like to try the reformer though.

Oh, I'm not doing anything in a 99 degree room. Nope.

I'll do anything you want in a 33 degree room. But not 99.

I used to do a Water Pilates class that I loved. I should try to find one again. One of those things that went away during pandemic

I haven't heard of that either! I've heard they now have water yoga classes, too - I don't think we have them around here, though.
