Whenever a snowstorm is forecast, parts of our grocery stores look like they did at the start of the pandemic. Bread and milk, especially, are gone. Just long, empty shelves.

I read an article a ways back where the logistics head of Walmart was talking about how ordering and buying patterns changed with the weather. Their biggest seller ahead of tornados, hurricanes, and blizzards was Pop-Tarts.

Portable if you have to go to a shelter room/eat under the covers for warmth and you can eat them cold! This is logical

Perfectly logical. And they'll last for years after the zombie apocalypse, too.

I don't think I've had a Pop-Tart since the Pleistocene age.

Do not try a Hot Fudge Sundae Pop Tart. Before you know it you'll be robbing banks to get more Pop Tart money.

I like the Waffle House index for a gauge of severity for storms & disasters. Are you familiar with it?

Pop Tarts, huh? Are these people all college stoners? So many better things to grab at Walmart to prepare to batten down the hatches...

I've never heard of the Waffle House Index. We don't have any in this neck of the woods, so the name doesn't come up often. But I'll have to look that up.

FEMA should hire Waffle House emergency prep coordinators, they do not mess around.

It's a big deal that you're still taking steps toward your goals with everything you're juggling. Each time you move forward toward what you want to achieve, it's a win!
