What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Good morning!
We are in a tiny town called Bynum and just passing through. We will leave in a couple hours to go to another tiny town to see friends. Should be a short drive today, about two hours. Yesterday was pretty low key and we spent lots of the afternoon and evening reading. We did stop at a Buc-ee's yesterday as my niece said it was mandatory in Texas. I was not impressed. Huge junk food store plus a jerky bar. Rog got three kinds of treats and I did try them all. Just two bites of each. I'm over them And I did great on food.
QoTD: in my parents generation and mine, we are all big. My sister was MO and had the surgery. My brother is MO and does all the fad diets with little success. In my kids generation, 5 out of the 6 cousins struggle mightily and one niece got sleeved last year. The only outlier there is my son. But of course, it would make no sense that Mr. perfect was overweight. However, if any one ever saw his work out regimen, you'd know why he is buff, not puff. So far both grands are perfect weights, and I pray for them that the got normy genes.
Breakfast today is cottage cheese, with the last of the prosciutto ,fig and goat sheers salad.
Lunch and dinner with friends so I have no idea and will try to do my best.
Peace Everybody.

How were the jerkies? Did you buy any?

I did not! At $32.00 a pound for the jerky bar or $9.00 for a four ounce pre packaged bag, I was totally meh about the whole thing. Though I will admit some of their flavors sounded great. The whole store smelled like sugar and people were grabbing handfuls of junk food. It was a weird experience to me.
I know, they have become so expensive. My favorite sf jerky online is about the same price.

I think Buck-ees is one of those weird local obsessions that I just don't get, it's a gas station, lol. Same with in and out, what a burger, etc.

I note that you did not include Portillo's in that category.

I had to try In-and-Out while in California. People just rave about it. Fanatically I didn't think it was that great. It would be my 4th choice here. I did like Carl's Junior a lot more. We don't have those out here either.

I don't think I've had Carl's Jr but I think I read somewhere it's the same as Hardee's which I have had. There was one a block away from my college campus and I ate more than my fair share of curly fries there, lol

I've heard Carl's is the same as Hardees, which is east of the Mississipi. But I don't think there are any in New England.

Do not offend my in-n-out. It's the ONLY burger joint I go to. Shake shack on the east coast doesn't even come close to it.
