G'morning all!

I got so excited for you, QJB and Grim, reading you are going to Mexico. I guess even if it's in Main it's gotta be interesting enough for you to plan a trip just to go there.

I am limping around today. My physical therapist yesterday was more brutal than usual. When I complained about the pain during our session he just laughed. He is working my gluteus medius in order to strengthen my IT band near the knee.

I know you guys heard me saying this before, but having DD at home is a joy and I cherish every minute I can spend with her. She looked so funny yesterday, on the deck enjoying the sun with her sunglasses on, but also on her laptop and phone talking with some journalist in Dubai for an article she was gonna be quoted in. I kept thinking that can't be my daughter, she is an adult, she is a grown up. When did that happen?

QOTD: instead of buying those expensive bags with a slit behind them, to be able to have them on top of my carryon, I got this bungee cord that does the job and you can change your bag on every trip. I thought it was genius.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Turkey links & chicken skewers
  • PP pudding, quest chips
  • Prosciutto & mozzarella rolls, and some extra cheese
  • E: cardio + weight

Happy taco Tue!

OMG-that is genius. I am getting one of those bungee cords. Every time I travel in the airport with DD, she stacks crap on top of my wheeling carryon. Of course, it falls off constantly irritating me. Getting one now.

I am intrigued. What article is your DD being quoted for, what is the subject, where will it be published?

My favorite gadget is the flip-fold. It is a plastic device that makes all of your folded laundry come out looking like it was folded to put on display at a store. I have used for many years and worn a few of them out. I love the way it can make my linen closet and drawers look so neat and organized.

Grim and I are on a long drive home from Maine and I just read him the thread aloud to amuse ourselves. He wanted to me to post that his favorite gadget is our very large squirrel proof bird feeder. It sits outside our picture window in the living room and it amuses both him and the cats equally :)

Bonus points if it's the one I've seen videos of that spins when the squirrels jump on it.

Hey again - did anyone start SSRIs after surgery?

I used to be on them (Lexapro) but tapered off pre surgery and realised that they had been the cause of my strange sleeps, so I didn't return to them post surgery.

My GP prescribed a new one yesterday called Fluvoxamine which is better for sleep. He said the timing was not great but my mental health was more important. So, I asked the surgeon and he referred me back to GP to discuss side effects.

it wasn't the normal side effects I cared about, I get those, I was simply after a tick of approval for starting a new SSRI 6 weeks after surgery and any affect it might have on the new stomach or whatever we now call it.

Anyone have experience with this? It looks fine but I do worry too much haha

Generally speaking, if you can take your other prescriptions without issue the new medication should not be a problem with your new stomach. However, research indicates "Following RYGBP, sertraline absorption was significantly decreased compared to the pre-operative value, leading to exacerbation of depressive symptoms. Alternate formulations of sertraline may improve bioavailability. Further studies are needed to determine whether optimizing control of MDD with SSRI will improve weight loss outcomes and quality of life, thereby reducing the potential for weight regain."
