Mornin' All!
well I'm down a lb from yesterday (from the three pounds that I "gained" this past week (I only weigh once a week now)), so it's definitely water. Or most of it, anyway. Hopefully the rest will be off by the end of the weekend. I can't imagine I actually gained more than half a lb of true weight at most. I'd been eating more than I had been - but we're talking about 200 kcal/day more - and I didn't even do that every day. Maybe three or four days out of seven. So even a half lb gain would be a stretch. Regardless, it's behind me now. I'm back on track again!
we're supposed to get 2-5" of snow today, but so far, nuttin'. I may run over to the gym before it starts. We've got hair appts scheduled for late this afternoon, so I'm hoping the roads will be OK by then. They should have everything cleared off by tomorrow morning, but today is kind of up in the air. I'm planning to do a lot of reading for classes, plus make more protein muffins and the kugel for tomorrow night's party. Otherwise...???
QOTD: nothing is coming to mind at the moment other than I've been thinking about what classes to audit over the summer (which would come under "learning", so this might count!). Almost all the summer courses at the Madison campus are online this summer, as they were last summer. Hurray!! Madison offers hardly any online classes during the regular semesters, because unlike the Milwaukee campus, their focus has always been on traditional students plus graduate students/research. Milwaukee, on the other hand, has always done a lot of outreach to working adults - so they've been offering evening, weekend, and online classes for years. However, Madison has evidently discovered that a lot more students take summer classes if they're online (probably because the students can take them from home). I think a lot of instructors like them, too - because then they can do whatever during the summer and not spend all their time teaching the class. They can even record all their lectures in May, upload them to the class Web site, and then not really have to do much with them over the summer, other than grade and hold occasional virtual office hours. So win-win. Anyway, there are several film and history classes being offered that I'd love to take - plus a sociology class on "fatness". I can't take them all, of course, but I love having all these choices!
B: plain skyr with berry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: cottage cheese
AS: either a protein muffin or baby carrots w/ hummus
D: salad with chicken breast strips and light dressing
have a great day, everyone!

Good morning QJB and menuers,
Today comes with a sore neck from sleeping funny last night. The surprise storms woke me up with the power going on and off. I managed to get in and out of bed three times without wrenching my incision, so proud of that. Guess it's not a good idea to use my stomach muscles, yet.
Since I returned to work yesterday, I learned that my vision is still a bit blurry and it's hard to read screens. Hoping this wears off quickly. Also saw that my eval is Monday, so I'll be finding a way to make the commute. I got a compression garment and will try that for driving.
QOTD - Completely new? Not really sure right now. I did want to take up sketching again, though. I used to draw and all kinds of things. My first time in college before having to drop out was as an art student, for what that's worth.
Just making it through today! Handful of meetings and have wrangled my email to down under 100, so that's a start.
Accountability- Feels like I'm focusing on carbs too much with what's allowed. I haven't bought anything new, though. With surgery and carbs, I seem to be a bit stalled. Will reset a bit more after these batches of food.
Exercise - More walking. More stretching. Hopefully no sneezing.
Menu - beef stew with potatoes as carb, keto chicken soup x2, ratio yogurt, egg salad on a wasa cracker, seaweed, one small mandarin orange.
Cheers, everyone!

Good morning Queen JB and Menuers,
I am so glad that it is Thursday I think this is the last day I need to do my work partners orders so tomorrow should be pretty smooth. I am excited for the weekend and plan to make the most of it. I think we are on the last week of the dog sitting job. I gotta say I think I am going to miss hims a bit when he goes home. QJB - I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment with 3D flowers. You're so good at what you do creating art that people won't want to destroy it by consuming it. People will end up preservting it for future auction sales, decades down the line.
QOTD - Need to learn - more independence with my wheelchair. On my list to learn- singing lessons.
Accountability: Sushi! 3pcs spicy tuna maki, 2pcs o-toro nigiri, 2pcs salmon sashimi. Does anyone use / know about liquid aminos? I've been using them for years at home. I compared the nutritional labels of that and light soy sauce and didn't see much of a difference. The big noticed difference was a reduction of ingredients and chemical names / preservatives.
