Aww, thanks for doing a nice thing for a group that isn't always appreciated for the work they do. Dinner sounds amazing.

In the past I would buy chocolates and cookies for the Valentine for people at work. This year? ugh.. spaced out. I worked late every day last 2 weeks, and today Keith surprised with the the cards. (I got him one and gave him on Saturday when he gave me flowers.) I was planning to work late today, but... a colleague reminded me that it's important to conect with the mate. So I bringing home sushi.

QOTD. Husband gave me a new anklet for valentines, he has always been about celebrating. No dinner plans as it is insanely busy, being high season on top of Valentines. I got him a card. Usually we go and pick out a new orchid for the collection on the porch. In our climate orchids are insanely easy and they keep blooming year after year with nothing more than watering.

Today I have the pain doc and then someone is coming to clean out the dryer vent that discharges to the roof. My autoimmune is really active right now so I started a course of steroids. Rheumatologist gives me emergency ones to keep on hand. I just can't take them too often. So far the steroids aren't really helping much. I don't think the dose is high enough.

Menu: Protein shake, pear. Salad for lunch. I have some tropical lobster in freezer so maybe that for dinner, a special treat for my beloved! Now off to the doctors!

Hope the pain doctor helps, and that you find a beautiful orchid addition. I must ask what a tropical lobster is, though.

Google: Spiny Florida Lobster Tails, they have them at Wild Fork online. Warm water lobster have no claws and a different texture and taste than Maine. They do get quite big but most tails sold are 4 to 6 ounces. I get mine from the Florida Keys from family members that share. Sometimes you see west African ones which are much the same. When you see lobster on the menu here it is almost always these. If it is Maine, it will say so, which are rarely seen here. Off to get the wire clippers which is the easiest way to remove the under belly skin and membranes. There is a reason they call them spiny.

Mornin' All!

I had this weird dizzy episode this morning - I'm guessing low blood pressure or low blood sugar. Our stupid blood pressure monitor isn't behaving, though - it keeps giving me an E5 error. Cripes. Oh well. Still feeling slightly light-headed, but much better. Hopefully this will resolve soon...

we've had issues with our garage door the last few days; now it appears to be off-track. The garage door repair guy is coming this afternoon. I hope this is fixable because it's the original garage door - a 300 lb 70-year-old wooden behemoth that we love. They don't make 'em like this anymore. I'll have to stay home until he gets here, though, because I'm afraid to open the damn thing - it might not close again and I don't particularly want my garage wide open if I'm not home - or even if I *am* home. So...I guess I'll get a lot of reading done today (??).

QOTD: no plans for today or this evening other than to keep myself occupied until after the garage door repair guy is finished (and hopefully I can leave the house then!). DH will be stuck at work later than usual because of some big event they're sponsoring, so nothing going on this evening, either.

B: plain skyr with fruit compote, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: cottage cheese with grapefruit sections

AS: if I'm here, a protein muffin. If I'm lucky and can leave this afternoon, then I'll probably take a protein bar to class with me

D: maybe a salad with grilled chicken breast strips and light dressing

have a great day, everyone!
