Hopefully it won't be too hard to learn the basics.

I used to love going to the track and Off track betting. Arlington used to be so much fun. I was able to support myself for a summer when I was 18 with the ponies. It's been years since I was at a track of bet on a race.

Your meme is so right for me. Ouch. A while ago I busted (again) my right shoulder and I didn't take time last night to find my "brace" so during the night I strained it again. Crap.
We have business visitors, yesterday and today. Really busy both days and eating out. I completely spaced out yesterday morning so I was late yesterday. Oops. Yesterday we picked both restaurants for lunch and dinner, so I could eat really good for me. My 2 favorite places. Good choices. I didn't eat anything I planned but I wouldn't mind: lunch was chicken shawarma with the Lebanese salad and pickles, dinner was Ceasar salad with salmon. The salad was loaded with freshly shaved parmesan (no croutons), and salmon was fresh and fantastic. Their dressing is house made (as gar as I know) and fantastic.
Today - who knows... there would be a bunch if us so we might try to bring something in house (Sandwiches). I have my own food so I would manage. But dinner could be challenging for me. The big group often picks places I have a hard time to pick anything for me. ugh. I may suggest asian-japanese type place. Will see. Ugh.
As for good stuff- after talking at home about my trip to San Diego in early March, I talked enough that Keith finally decided to join me. I love traveling with him. I have a conference there , so I would be busy for 3.5- 4 days but besides that - Keith and I will spend some time in San Diego area. (I booked hotel by convention center for 8 nights.) And when I say "I'll be busy" means - morning to late evening. Keith is really great to take care of himself when I'm busy and not complaining. He will get a car...
When I was younger, my business partner and I would fight for who is going - we both wanted to go. Now we try to push that responsibility on each other. Lol. Some trips I don't mind, but I hate traveling when I'm gone for a week or longer and every day is a different city, different hotel. Then I get really really tired. When I was younger, I would schedule conference trips to last longer - so I could visit the area on my own, or with a friend. I had a few good friends in the industry that would love to team up with to see the area. Platonic male friends (engineers like me). Some wouldn't mind to be more than platonic, but they were genuinely good people, so they didn't take "no" as an offense.
Today. Busy busy busy. Lots coffee and tea, pain meds (sitting practically whole day), food - I'll picked something I can eat from choices I'll get.
They plan to travel to see customers starting tomorrow- soi hope i could o some office work tomorrow and relax a bit. Fingers cross.
I'm one of the company offices so I'll have to play "smart and informed". The good thing is I have smart people working for me, so if I don't have an answer to some detailed questions- I can bring them in to collaborate. I don't have to know everything as long as I have people or data to check the details.
My thyroid hormones give me nausea every morning. Ugh. I have strong nausea meds but I hate taking them. O Well.

Hala - are you a mechanical engineer? My son is an engineering student.

I have got 2 MS engineering degrees, engineering physics (optics - fiber, lasers, etc) and electrical engineering... the guy I work with is mechanical engineer...We run fiber optics telecommunications manufacturing company. We both worked in different manufacturing companies like that for many many years. I'm ready to retire. But we need to sell the business to do that.

After that, getting a degree in business administration may be a good idea. If he wants to study more. More perspective for advancement as he gets older - in management.
