What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
Good morning! We have had such a busy stretch of days that I am having to look on my calendar every morning to see what's next. It's a good problem to have.
I did get out and do the stairs yesterday. And I bested my previous best time. And I didn't die in the cold. So, winning. I ate pretty well considering we were out with friends. But I did add some bbq potato chips and wine. Today Rog is finishing up the new fence I asked him to build. It's going to give me a space where I can let brown and black dog out into the yard without having to be on constant guard of brown dog going crazy and snarling at the poor folks walking by. On a negative note, this could shorten my daily steps as I won't be running across the house 10 times a day to make him stop. But I am so looking forward to being able to have them out and they can't see the people so they won't bark at the people. I need to go to Goodwill for a drop off and look for a few baskets I need for home and the RV. I went to Joann's and Michael's yesterday and a simple woven basket, not even very big was $40 bucks! I was shocked. Hoping to find a few thrift store ones that will fit my requirement. Also, the plan today is get in a big walk and do resistance band training when I get back.
Tonight is dinner at the neighbors. They are making the steak and salad and we are bringing a bottle of Justin Isosceles Reserve. Jim will know, yummmmm.
QoTD: My surgeon doesn't have a nutritionist. She doesn't give a food program past the first 12 weeks or so and her only mantra is 60 grams of protein and 64 ounces of water. Not helpful this far out. I've been researching and playing around with what works. I am currently trying to have 50% of my meal being veggies or beans or ancient grains, adding a serving or two of fresh fruit daily and reducing my actual protein intake from meat to 2-3 ounces per meal max. It's still too new to tell how it's working, but the scale is inchy squinchying down and I feel like that with the exercise is giving me a more lean look. And the added veggies and fruit are doing wonders towards "keeping me regular".
Menu today is
B: leftover lasagna
L: to use up more leftovers, I am going to do bacon avo sandwiches on cauliflower toast and a side salad
D: steak, salad, wine.
My photos are of us out in the desert last weekend. I look like a total fool in the one photo, but it sure was fun! And that's us racing up the side of "Blow Mountain" in the four seater.
Peace Everybody!

QOTD- No the program that I used is no longer in business. The main doctor I despised and would not have her do my surgery she lost her hospital privileges due to her nasty comments to nurses from what I heard. The nutritionist was pregnant when I saw her the one time. and then I never saw her again. I followed the NP to another clinic, but she is no longer there so I have no contact with the surgeon or program that I went through. I did try to do a support group, but it was a pain. Late at night and not very helpful, there is always that one person that dominates the meeting and doesn't let anyone else talk.
I can't believe that it is Friday, this week has flown by. The county inspector is supposed to be out to approve the mechanical permit. It should only take a few minutes.
My roommate is supposed to have a meeting with the bus company, so we'll see what happens.
I need to get back to work.
Have a great day everyone!

Jumping in about Nutritionists...
My Bariatric Surgeon sent me to an MD who is specialized in difficulties post op. She is trained in Bariatrics and Intuitive Eating. Working out very well for ME, but it's an approach that is not for everyone.
