QOTD: When was the first time you considered WLS?
I'd heard about it, but never considered myself having it until my diabetes doctor asked if I had thought about it. My knee-jerk reaction was to respond that I couldn't have it. I figured my insurance (bottom-of-the-barrel) wouldn't pay for it. But the doctor asked me if I was sure, and then I started thinking about it and looking into it. The surgery has done wonders for my health. However, though my diabetes is less severe, I still have it.

It's the end of my weekend, so I have to go run errands today and do some housework. I did get a lovely thing for my desk at work though. Super proud of it!

Food Plan

But first, Tea.

Breakfast: Egg on toast with red pepper strips

Lunch: Probably some turkey pastrami and cheese roll-ups

Supper: A can of light progresso soup. There was a sale and my pantry is full.

Dinner: I have some leftover chicken meatballs in sauce from yesterday. I added pearl onions to give it some 'bulk' instead of having it with pasta. Will probably have that tonight.

Snack: Seaweed snack; Unknown

Accountability for yesterday: Horrible. I gotta figure something out.

Good afternoon QJB and menuers!

Congrats on things coming together.:) so glad to hear it.

I'm at the orthodontist right now. Don't I know how to have fun? Well, I mean, there's a consult immediately following with the oral surgeon so they can tell me again how I should have had my wisdom teeth out 20 years ago. I can hardly wait! Here, though, is where I'll learn if there are options for me to address my teeth. I'm wishing for Invisalign but my guess is that's more of a pipe dream. We'll see!

Will go from here to try and work in a nice mani/pedi treat if I'm lucky. Not something I do often but feels like the right time. Haven't found a good salon around here. There used to be a guy my friend and I went to in Georgia...we'd only see him. He was so great. Then he moved to Florida to open his own business. Good for him...sad day for us.

QOTD- I was always in the camp of wanting to do it naturally. Had some serious introspection in 2020 when the unaddressed health issues started becoming a bigger issue that couldn't be sorted quickly. Obviously I had tried. Just as obviously, it had failed. I prioritized health in 2021 and finally took the leap last year, so here we are now!

Will be on a plane for work at 5am tomorrow and will be in DC through Thursday for a conference. Good times.

Menu - hard boiled egg, bit of cheese and salami, fritatta, adobo chicken with cheese and some black beans. Dinner TBD since I'm staying in "town".

Have a good evening, everyone!

Good Afternoon! Super late post for me. Long story but it'll be needless to say that we are having some bad luck. John slipped outside when trying to fix a drain/rain spout and broke his patella. He will have to have surgery and we will find out Thursday when that will be. Luckily, Emily is a trooper since she has to transport both of us until I can drive. I'm seeing my dr tomorrow so hopefully there will be some relief for her if he allows me to drive at least a little. I was work from home today since I didn't sleep and need to make John is moving around okay.

QOTD: A few years before I had it. I tried to "do it on my own"

Menu is TBD

I hope you all have had a good day.
