G'morning all!

QJB - so very sorry for Grim, but him having Covid doesn't mean you have to get it too. As long as he quarantines in a separate room and you give him his meals through the door it should work. When DH got it that's how I managed not getting it. Those V day cookies are adorable.

We survived the storm intact. We have one day of respite until the next one hits us. I have a lot of pics of the storm; flooded low lands and very angry ocean.

Guess where DH is right now? Amy, he came your way near Santa Barbara. Supposedly at a very secret spot near SB the wave of the decade is breaking, it happens every 5-10 years. So hubs and a couple of his surfing buddies are playing hookie at work. They left last night to be in place at the crack of dawn and planning to surf it all day long. Where is this secret spot you might ask? No idea, it's so top secret that not even a rookie wife can know the name. Because the rookie wife might tell another wife who happens to have a surfing husband, and if the said husband is not in the know, he will come to know of the secret spot...and I guess that's not happening because we don't share waves.

QOTD: nothing that stuck.

  1. This is called the flats, 5 minutes from my home- parking lot, to the right are three restaurants (all under water)

  2. SS Palo Alto (known locally as cement ship) is finally going down. There are two teams in our area a) team let's get rid of this thing, it's an eyesore and a shark cove b)team this is my childhood's icon and let's keep it even if it stinks to high heaven due to bird poop. So at every storm the two teams pray for two opposite outcomes for the ship. Half of the pier disappeared yesterday.

  3. Last but not least, the beach front homes worth millions. They are mostly vacation homes of the rich Silicon Valley execs who use them two weeks of the year, so hopefully nobody is actually in them.
  4. We've been battling the storm since NY's. When there was a calm on Mon or Tue a friend of DH was out checking the waves and filming how huge they were. All of a sudden he saw these dolphins having the time of their life. This is a still pic of the video he took. Nothing more beautiful than dolphins surfing.

My meals yesterday (eggfast day 3):

  • Bullett coffee
  • Hb eggs & cheese
  • Egg custard
  • Egg loaf
  • E: cardio + weight

Happy Fri-yay!

I gotta be honest, maybe it's not another storm; I know we'll have more rain starting Saturday and all next week. With rivers already filled to capacity there is gonna be a lot of flooding. That's why the county keeps sending out alerts.
And yes, surfers are a strange breed. He says he warned me on our first date that he is a surfer. Silly me not realizing this is a way of living and not just a sport; because I answered back "cool, I ski!"

I've always thought it would be great to live on a beach (if I could ever afford it!), but...maybe not! You guys had the right idea buying a house on a cliff! You get the views - but not the danger!

This pictures really show the impact of this storm. Glad you've stayed safe. I hope DH gets to enjoy his waves, that seems pretty top secret!

Wow that Ocean looks so angered till you see the dolphins frolicking in it. So glad it did not affect you. I love the super-secret surf location. I have location on my husband so I can find his phone if he loses it and vice versa. If you want to be a detective and figure it out that maybe your in.

Nope, don't need to know where it is. As long as his secrets are surf spots related I'm good.
