Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,

Glad to hear Melody is doing well. Hope this gives her the relief she has been needing.

Bored you? I am having a hard time believing it. I myself was crushed busy yesterday. I still got catch up to do today so I'll try to make this quick.

My only plan today is if I get caught up, I want to go to Aldi to grab some chicken and I need to get another Mega Million since I didn't hit it last night. There is a prayer services tonight for 2023 that we might go to but if we don't, I'm fine with that as well.

QOTD: I'm going to say 37. That was when I met my husband. But at 53 I had my surgery and that was a fun year.

Accountability: Peanuts and a few peanut butter M&M's. They have Marshmallow treat M&M's out for spring. They are just too sugary for me.

Water and Vitamins: On track. I take a Bariatric Advantage Ultra multi w/iron I use bariatric advantage Calcium chews and 500mg of Magnesium. I also use Miralax and fiber in my first coffee of the day.

Mornin' All!

I have one of my film discussion groups this morning at 10:00, then another meeting at 2:00. In between, I have to go to my mom's to straighten out a billing issue, because she doesn't like to call places. She can't hear very well and gets confused easily. I also need to straighten out an event scheduling issue with one of my organizations. It never ends.... I think I'm going to step off this particular committee once our season is over in June. I've just got too much going on, between organization commitments, volunteer commitment, and our two mothers. ARRGGGH!! I want my retirement to be more like I'd originally imagined - days spent at the gym, riding my bike, reading, taking classes, going to events of interest. Not pulling my hair out.

QOTD: I loved my 50s and so far my 60s. Best years of my life. My childhood was OK, but I'm much happier now. The best few years of my childhood, though, were when we lived in Kent, Ohio, when I was 8-11 years old. I had a lot of friends there, and they had a great bus system that we kids rode all over town. Very fond memories of those years.

B: I'm not hungry, so I may just make a protein shake and take it to the meeting. Someone invariably brings treats, so I won't feel bad if I end up eating one or two that way.

MS: see above

L: I'd better take something like a protein bar in case it takes longer at my mother's than I'm thinking it will. I hate to just eat something like that instead of a healthy meal, but I may not have a choice (and I don't want to hold off on it until I get home, in case I get home later than I think - holding off on eating too long when I'm hungry can be dangerous...)

AS: my afternoon meeting is at a coffee place, so I'll probably get a latte with SF syrup since the milk has some protein in it (also some calories - but about the same as getting a regular cup of coffee since I put half & half in that - which doesn't have nearly as much protein in it)

D: I'm thinking a salad with chicken strips in it (and light dressing)

Good morning! Today is my day off from having the grands this week, and wouldn't you know it, one of our carbon monoxide detectors ran low on battery and started chirping. So much for a bit of a sleep in. That's ok though. It's nice to have coffee and sit and watch the sky wake up. Very gray and wintery here. It's supposed to be drier today, but expect a deluge tomorrow.

In the real "reals" of eating yesterday...I added half an apple with 1 tbsp peanut butter and one Hershey's kiss. And zero exercise. So I've already used up my rest day for the week. I'm probably going to be unhappy about that one morning soon. LOL. This adding back non starchy veggies and a bit a fruit in my diet is odd and exhilarating. That apple was crisp and fresh and delightful.

Today holds a 2.5 walk ending in a 50 minute yoga session. My chair yoga class starts back up today and Roger may join me. I need to get out for more veggies and a some fruit, plus snacks for the girls. We are getting them tonight and will have them until Friday evening. Pray for me that all this exercise has increased my endurance. Maybe I will take them on the stairs and see if I can wear them out. That's a thought...

QoTD: I am sure I had good years as a kid. I was warm, fed, loved. But my favorite year so far was 43. My children were mostly grown, we just bought this house we are in, my job was jumping and I was coming into being me, not Mom or wife or whatever. I loved the newfound ability to walk to the village for coffee or stop after work and meet Roger for a ****tail and not have to race home right after work and get dinner going and homework managed and laundry done. I had my first baby at 19 and for 24 years, feeding them and taking care of the family had me going from 4 am to 11 pm most days. So at 43, I really came into my own being.

Today would be my youngest son's 36 birthday. We are choosing to celebrate him with a family and friends dinner at his favorite burger place. I'm at peace today with his loss, but miss him terribly.

Menu plan for today:

B: leftover crack chicken and cottage cheese

L: TBD, but I hope to get some fresh stuff and add a ounce of cheese and 1-2 ounces of meat. I need to look for salad dressings that are low cal, but that I like. I really hate stuff like low cal Ranch. It's like gelatinous. BLECH.

D: Insides of a burger. A few french fries. I doubt I will have anything fresh there. But it's just one meal. And I don't know about wine. The plan right now is no. But I'm giving myself grace today if I need it.
