What's on tap for your first day of 2023?

Good mornin everyone! Happy New Year!

I slept through it and woke up around 12:40ish. Oh well!

Not much on tap today. I've got to work on cleaning the house a bit...a good vacuuming and clean the bathroom. I need to start the black eyed peas in the crockpot here in about an hour. My brother and his family are coming over tomorrow for lunch. They will not eat the BEPs so we're going to put some jalapeños in it. Later today we're going to make jalapeño poppers and I'm here for that! LOL

I'm really anxious over my surgery. At least my sickness stuff is vastly improved. I have a bit of a lingering cough but nothing like it was.

QOTD: What is your favorite part of the new year?

the hope of something better for the new year!

B: JUST egg bowl and coffee x2

L: ???

D: black eyed peas and jalapeño poppers

S: I'll have two Milano cookies and maybe some pretzels

Mornin' All - and Happy New Year!

nothing on tap for today other than getting some exercise! I may do some reading, too.

QOTD: nothing is coming to mind. It's really not any different for me, other than I have to remember to write the correct year on everything! (I'm good after the first couple of weeks, though!)

B: plain skyr with cranberry/cherry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: protein muffin

AS: hopefully nothing - I'm going to try to push everything out so I'm not eating lunch 'til around 2:00 or 3:00

D: small piece of lasagna and some salad

have a great NYD!

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope 2023 is a fantastic and exciting year for everyone.

QOTD - the opportunity for reflection and commitment.

So yesterday was very good -- I realized when I went down to the rower that I had remembered my current status wrong, instead of just under 4 miles, I needed to do just under 14....but I did it, two sessions yesterday got me to 13.72 and 201 rower miles as part of my 365 miles total. I felt very accomplished....but I will not be rowing today, lol. Just a cardio pilates class.

No big plans for today, workout, have coffee, do some cooking watch some TV and books, have a couple of phone calls with friends, just a good reset day....and after I finish this post, I will log off line.

Happy New Year everyone! Cheers to 2023!

Good morning ~ Jalapeno poppers are so good, enjoy! I made it until 10 last night which is very late for me. It had been pouring rain all day and into the evening. I was reading and napping, we had a fire going it was cozy and wonderful. Today will be a bit different. Walk the dogs, run errands, clean the house and a couple of yoga and stretch sessions. I am feeling good and hopeful for the new year.

QOTD - Clean slate, a new beginning, a fresh start!

Yesterday: I drank all the wine and ate all the carbs

Today:

B - coffee x 2, veggie scramble

l - Mexican cauli rice w/black beans and salsa

d - carne asada veggie bowl

s - cucumber w/tajin

e - dog walk at the park, yoga session, percussion and stretch session

Have a wonderful first day of 2023!!

Good morning! I made it until 9:30 last night. Too much good food and great wine so I took myself off to bed. We saw Annie yesterday and I started crying three minutes in, it was just so adorable. Roger and I enjoyed a great relaxing brunch before hand and then apps and drinks with the neighbors for the evening. A good way to wrap up 2022.

Today, my son is 41. Not even sure how that happened. Especially because I still think I am in my mid 40's. But here we are. We are also getting an added bonus today of dinner with my daughter's family. They came in early from the desert because of bad weather and wanted to have family dinner with my Dad one more time before he leaves for home tomorrow. I need to figure out some exercise I want to do today to hit my thirty minutes. Looks like it may need to be a video because this rain is supposed to stick around all day. Oh, and Rog and I are are going to start clearing out the dressers and closet upstairs in prep for new paint and carpet coming in the next two weeks. We had carpet done in 2016 up there and something is just not right about it, so the manufacturer and Costco, who we bought it through, are replacing it essentially for free. Wheeeeee.

QoTD: I love any reason for fresh beginnings and mine starts today. (Also starts again tomorrow when I wake up, and the day after, but that's just who I am. LOL.) I've got a short list of things I want to try/implement/improve on so bring on 2023.

Menu is up in the air. But thoughts are:

B: turkey and cottage cheese

L: a little left over gyros meat, feta cheese and salad.

D: tbd by the group

Peace Everybody!

I noticed on Netflix yesterday that they've started a program with Nike trainers -- 70 workout videos of various levels!

I'm still in my 40s in my head, too! We don't have kids, but it's always jarring to me to see friends from high school or college with 40-year-old kids!
